Repair cost as reported by who? They don't say exactly, which is suspect. Their vague language of about their "proprietary database" makes me suspicious as well. Just tell me exactly where the data comes from if you want me to trust it.

I agree that anecdotal reports are unreliable. But I find consumer surveys to be equally unreliable.

Fair enough, that was not on the part of the page that I was reading. They are still vague about where the totality of their data comes from and I do not trust it. Plus, they even state that they use "predictive data science" which is sketchy as fuck.

I understand you're skeptical of the "research." You should be; seeking out variables that affect bias are important in science. But if you simply don't understand what it means, it doesn't make the data false. But, if you simply don't understand what it means, it gives good reason to believe its true.

I understand your points as well. You're trying to follow data. People are just simply skeptical of "research." They always have been, and for good reason; it wasn't, and still isn't always conducted in the least biased, ethical, or efficient ways. But, sometimes it is. If you know how to interpret data, you get it. If you dont, you don't. You won't convince him otherwise.

 

I am a bit distracted and let my love of arguing get away from me I guess. Fair enough. The repairpal data does seem to be the most reliable of the three he listed.

Huh? Aisin makes Toyota transmissions, and they make some Ram HD transmissions. The 1/2 ton 8 speeds are either made by Ram/Stellantis under license by ZF or ZF themselves.

 

They can’t sell anything without the Monroney window sticker.
