I am having an issue with the throttle cutting out on my Tacoma. I will have no throttle response until over half way through the throttle travel. When I am driving through the fields I can feel the throttle coming and going, like a wire losing and then regaining connection. When is loses throttle I can turn the truck off and restart and most of the time I will have full throttle again. It rarely does it on the road unless I hit a rough spot in the road that causes a good jar. Is there anything common that causes this or should I just start wiggling wires to try to find It?

What year is your new motor from? Get yourself a ScanGauge II or a blue tooth ODBII and a live monitoring app. Watch the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) value while it's working normally, and then see what that value is "when it cuts out".

The ECU's in these trucks are picky when it comes to sensors.

I do not know what year the new motor is from. I will check into the scanners. Thanks

I assume they swapped in your existing throttle body onto the new motor? 2003.5 to 2004 have different throttle bodies and different TPS.

I am not sure on that, i knew that the 03 and up were electronically controlled to a point. I dont know if he had an 03 or 04 motor, or if he used an older one and swapped throttle bodies.
