Swapped injectors, now won't run

I have a 2003 tacoma with the 3.4 motor with 330,000 miles on it. The truck is a daily driver but mostly used as an old farm truck. It has had a miss for awhile now and I purchased a set of motor west injectors over a year ago for it but never put them in. This past week the miss got worse and the engine light started flashing so I parked it. Today I got new coils, wires, and plugs, and put those on along with the new injectors, fuel rail washers, plenum gaskets, and throttle body gasket. Everything went fairly smooth. When trying to restart the engine, it would turn over and act like it wanted to start a couple times, then when it did start it died again immediately. With the key on there was a noise coming from the white connector (iac connector?) on the back of the throttle body, I unplugged it and plugged back in and the noise went away. I squeezed the fuel return line with vise grips and the engine would run poorly (low rpm) for a few seconds before it dies.
What could be my problem? The truck would start and run (however poorly) before my repair. I have double checked my plug and wire orientation, and made sure all plugs and vacuum lines were reattached.
    Thanks for any help.

Did it sit for long enough that the battery died?

if you moved the throttle body flap that could be the issue. Make sure you go over everything again. Make sure no wires are being pinched and that your grounds are bolted up tightly

I did move the throttle body flap when I wiped out some of the build up out of the throttle body. How does that cause a problem, and how do I correct it?
I do plan on disassembling it again tomorrow and checking everything.

I took the intake back off this evening and had an injector leaking where it goes into the fuel rail. Fixed that and put it back together, verified I was getting spark, and it still didn't act like it was going to start. I am charging the battery now and will fool with it more later. Any other suggestions?

Did you reattach the doubled up grounds on the side of the air intake plenum?

Yes, all the grounds are connected. I took my throttle body back off and took the plate off the top to clean the air holes for the iac. I must have smeared and packed gunk in them while wiping out the throttle body yesterday. Reconnected and got the engine to start, but it would run a few seconds and die. Did this a couple time before it would idle, then when I started giving it throttle it would die. Repeated several times before it would finally rev up. It still has a miss and my next guess is to check the timing belt to see if it has jumped a tooth. What are the odds my fuel pump could be causeing any of these issues? Thanks for all the suggestions.

    Codes?
Pull the fuel injector fuse and crank it and see if it sounds out of rythm.

I haven't put a code reader on it. The injectors were original, the coils, wires, and plugs had been awhile. I am sure it needs o2 sensors and could probably benefit from a new fuel pump, those are original also.

Truck would not start again this morning. Seems like it is lossing prime on the fuel.

Have you checked fuel pressure to see if it is spec, and any chance there is water in fuel?

Spray it with starting fluid, if it starts, you might have a fuel problem. Check crank position sensor, if ecm does not see rpm the fuel pump will not turn on.

Sorry I abandoned this thread, here's the update. I took the truck to a local Toyota shade tree mechanic and he said I had no compression on most of the cylinders. I am sure that was true since the motor was pretty high miles and definitely lacking in power, but it was running before. I figure he was just looking to sell a motor and not have to fool with fixing mine. Anyways I just bought a used motor from him and had him swap it for me. Back on the road again. I am having a throttle problem now that I am going to make a new thread for. Thanks for all the helpful responses.

Boy that worked out good. Most would kill for that deal just to be back on the road

Make sure your bottom O-rings are not stuffed down in your fuel injector ports. They always come off when you take the oil injectors off and stay in there lots of times and then you might not even know they’re in there when you go to ram the new injector down in there Make sure the injector seats did not get damaged here unseated

If the OP's engine is the same 5VZ-FE as used in my '02, there are no o-rings as in the I4. I drove myself nuts when I replaced my injectors until it was pointed out that the V6 doesn't use them.
