I'm looking at replacing the fuel injectors due to a minor issue suggesting a leak.

    My plan is:
    • Motor West refurbished Denso injectors (6)
    • OEM gaskets for fuel rails (6)
    • OEM fuel pressure regulator
    • OEM gasket for fuel pressure regulator
    • FelPro upper & lower intake manifold gaskets (set of 4)
I did the throttle body and plenum gaskets a year ago. Should I replace those whenever I remove them?

Besides Super Lube on the O rings, can I use something I have like white lithium grease, multipurpose (black) lithium grease, silicone grease, dielectric grease, brake grease, Park Tool PolyLube?

Only because I'm in there, I plan on pulling the lower manifold and doing these that I've heard can fail eventually:
    • OEM knock sensors (2)
    • Denso knock sensor harness
    • reseal coolant bypass pipe with Permatex Right Stuff if I see residue
Toyota lists 89615-12090 and 89615-12040 as current knock sensors for my model. The latter is not listed as a previous version of the former. I think they're the same but two different options for some reason. What to do?

Does the rest of this make sense?

Reusing the newer gaskets should be ok. I just did some injectors. On all my rubber parts like hoses and o-rings, I use 3m silicone spray. Super lube is good my only concern would it being a paste and possibly clogging an injector. The silicone spray will give the same effect but its an oil and won't clog or cake.

    YO JustA

I just did my injector RR ‘prep’ too
    Lots of help here
But no one said anything about injector cups

    https://www.lceperformance.com/Injector-3VZ-Parts-Kit-3-0-liter-V6-OEM-Toyota-P-N-p/1065019.htm

so my 2.4L totally needed new cups
    Brittle as glass
Delayed injector install for 2weeks(back order)

I was 50/50 to replace them, then another member advised, someone had vacuum leak thru a cracked injector cup
That was enough for me and bought new ones
Then…..a PiTA to gets the cups out and install (that took 2days to investigate/search
Lemme see if I can fine my thread to save u some time

I appreciate the tip! As @O'Silver_Taco says the 5VZ apparently does not have the cups, and Timmy isn't showing them either. Not that it makes mine easier... this is a big job on the 5VZ. I read over your whole thread though. One bonus is I will get access to retighten the valve cover bolts. They're loose after a year.

Also, I'm probably skipping the expensive knock sensors and just doing the harness. Unless merely handling them could be enough to make those old knock sensors fail? I've had no sensor or wiring issues on this truck, other than an O2 sensor and a dirty MAF sensor I cleaned. Maybe best to count on its track record and leave that shit alone entirely.

I'll be following Timmy's instructions where he got the same Motor West refurb Denso injectors. There does not appear to be any other legit brand of aftermarket ones that are much cheaper, just counterfeits.

That's a great guide. Only thing I'd add, and I think you already mentioned it, but just to reinforce.. I had a LOT of trouble using gas as lube for the injector o rings. The Motor West injectors arrived with a small packet of super lube, and after a few failed attempts with the gas, I went with the silicone. Keep in mind that you don't need a ton, a very small amount will do the trick. I would also suggest having a few extra o rings on hand.

Good idea, I'll add a few O rings to the Toyota order.
