Ugh! 8* with 27* high today! But back above freezing for the weekend! Woohoo! Another great day, ie I’m hiding in my reloading room today preparing for a spring prairie dog hunt!
Doing something special today because this will be the last 1/19/24 we will see…LOL!

Well, I looked at the calendar and then my face in the mirror...checks out. Yep, the last 1/19/24 I will ever see.

Good morning, sovereign nation of Tacoma users ... and maybe abusers.
I wont give weather deets for the 727 today.
Have a wonderful and safe day!

Oh BTW... I took care of my first mod yesterday. My Husky Xact liners came yesterday. Installed them and sat there for a minute. Truck still has 29 miles on it. Waiting for the new job (whatever/whenever that may be) to start so I can drive it!!! LOL

Good morning fellow Geezasaurouses! I just made that word up if you can't tell. No intent to offend anyone, it's actually intended to be complimentary to those of us who have made it this far with the dinosaur reference at the end. 26 degrees and light snow in SE Pennsylvania.

Went to my favorite hardware store yesterday (Paul B Hardware) near Ephrata to purchase #40 and #55 Torx drivers in anticipation of installing bed stiffeners in the near future. Probably Total Chaos but there is another brand that is under consideration. Call me crazy, but I drive almost an hour to shop at Paul B rather than drive 15 minutes for either a Lowes or Home Despot because:

    1. There is not one single self-checkout lane in the store.
    2. There is plenty of help who generally know what they are talking about or knows someone in the store who does.
    3. Even though I'm not a religious person at all, their stores are closed on Sunday in support of their employees who are.

If there is one in your area, forget about Lowes and Home Depot and shop with Paul B Hardware. I am not affiliated in any way with the organization.

Well...I think its fantastic you are supporting local privately owned businesses. I am fortunate to have 2 similar places in my vicinity when I'm in North Florida. They are also closed on Sunday and I think that is fantastic as well!...Geezasauroses...LOL!

    Morning all:

Hope you're feeling better today Tom.

What caliber you reloading for, sure hope you have a progressive press since you may go through a lot of ammo on a prairie dog hunt.

Snowing here, calling for maybe 3", I can live with that!

Good morning. Looks like we received 2" of snow early this morning and there are still light flurries. We are supposed to be going out to a record release party in Annapolis tonight, but we will see. The young artist has been working 2 years to get the record to this point. Another plus for her is the venue for the party seats a little over 300.

:pccoffee:  geezasaurouses/wannabes/weather bugs. I was up before 6 this morning and it had just started snowing. I have jobs to finish in the garage today, guess I'll shovel my way out there -- and back! I moved about a cord of wood from the woodpile to our closer-to-the-door storage spot yesterday, a wheelbarrow at a time. Then I did a scheduled service on one of the cars, which took a good bit longer than I anticipated. Wore myself out. But I got to try out my spiffy new pressure brake bleeder, which worked great. I'm kicking myself for having waited so long to get one. The problem was that I used to be a dirt poor mechanic and I figured out ways to do without a lot of that kind of tool, and so now it's hard for me to spend money on them. Weird. o_O

My favorite hardware store is the local Ace Hardware, Weaver's. They have all kinds of hardware, tools, clothes and what-have-you to support the local farmers and Mennonites. Many of the folks working there have been there since I moved here in 1993. I think it's the greatest hardware store on earth. Costs a bit more than the big box stores sometimes, but I think it's worth it.

Dave: I have to drive a way to an ACE hardware, but the drive is worth it.

CZ 527 Varmint in 223. Lyman turret loader. Never could see how to use a progressive reloader with bottle neck cartridges that seem to always need trimming.
But you are definitely right that I could go through a lot of ammo. I start with a 22 LR, then 17 HMR, and finally 223.

This old, decrepit geezasaurous likes shopping local too. I like stores that keep bolt bins where you can buy one fastener or a specific number or a full box... instead of a package bagged by weight and always one short of the job you are doing. I bought a bolt bin for the new shop so I'm no longer having to sort through the old coffee can full of miscellaneous bolts (still do 'cause it's surprising how often the bolt bin doesn't have what I need) and I found out the Ace had cheaper nuts and washers but the Tractor supply had (much) cheaper bolts.

Friday is a coffee day for me. Whoop! Whoop!

:pccoffee: Good Friday Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Well, it's in the 40's, and the wind is blowing, and that's all we get today. And then back to 20's tonight. But the sun is out. Little bit, I will go put that heat trace on the pool plumbing. Then, we go get the truck, and see how shiny it will be! This coating is more for protection than anything, but easier to clean, and more shiny when I do will be a big plus!

Well, I got my heat trace on - I didn't buy long enough piece, but it will do for now. Threw a shipping blanket over it anyway for tonight's cold.

Then we went to get the shiniest 10' truck in town. It really does look spectacular, in it's own way. They worked extra hard on all the paint "issues", which I appreciated - because I know it was basically a cheap respray with good thickness. It did not turn into a Ferrari, which, I actually didn't worry too much about. Shoot, I even let my wifey shoot a picture of me and Little Big Red. No more auto washes though.....
