Hope all the construction on the house and shop goes well and most of all quickly. Still crazy out there post covid and contractors have more work than they can handle. Needless to say watch your build like a hawk to make sure its done right.

Morning fellas

 

Snowing now and blowing pretty good. I have to go to PT today, I heard town is clear and dry. Guess we will see in a few hours.

 

Gotta do slow and easy, my 25 minutes to work has turned into a 45 minute drive because some of the bridges that I use are still closed. So I have to go the long way around.

 

I gotcha I usually take the back roads there but today I might just go to town and then cut across.

BACK INTO THE DEEP FREEZE: While most of Alabama is above freezing early this morning, a new surge of Arctic air will arrive today, with temperatures holding steady or slowly falling. A brisk north wind will make it feel colder, despite a clearing sky. Tonight will be clear with another hard freeze… lows will be in the 10-18 degree range over the northern half of the state, with low to mid 20s for South Alabama.

Tomorrow will be a sunny but very cold day; the northern half of the state will stay below freezing all day. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30s for the southern counties. Then, after another hard freeze early Sunday morning, a warming trend begins with highs in the 40s by Sunday afternoon. The air will stay dry and the sky will remain sunny.

NEXT WEEK: We have a major pattern flip next week, setting the stage for much warmer weather. Highs will be in the 60s over the latter half of week, with 70s likely for the southern quarter of Alabama. Monday will be dry, but a very wet period will begin Tuesday. We will have periods of rain Tuesday all the way through Saturday (January 27), with rain amounts in the 2-4 inch range for most of the state.

DROUGHT MONITOR: The new drought monitor released yesterday shows 64 percent of Alabama remaining in a drought, but conditions continue to improve. The big rains expected next week will continue to put a dent in the drought.



ON THIS DATE IN 1961: Eight inches of snow fell and caused crippling traffic jams around the Washington D.C. area on the eve of John Kennedy’s inauguration. The president-elect had to cancel dinner plans and, in a struggle to keep other commitments, reportedly had only 4 hours of sleep. Right right. Same here. I don't see the monies in the haulers that they ask for.

 

They're definitely cool as hell though. I found 3 of those popup toy haulers on fb b/t $6-$7K. And if I'm honest......still outta my price range

 

Yup. But looking is free and cheap.

Hell, Wifey has shown interest in the 4 runners. so, I've been browsing dealers for the last few weeks. AND.. I've been looking at full size trucks again. I'll tell you what, Looking is damn fun.
