I got lucky to find my unicorn. I'm sure mine will let me down at some point but so far it's been a trooper. Hell, the 7.3 is infamous for its struggles to start in cold temps, but it's been drama free in the low 20s as of later. Doesn't crank any longer than usual.
Don't get me wrong, I love mine, my ears just tell me it's broken since I'm so used to gassers. Tempted to open up the exhaust a bit, but the idle alone is beefy and nostalgic.

    Fun fact: In 1995, one could purchase a 3.0l I4 Porsche or a Mazda with a 1.8 V6.

    What a decade!

If you listen close enough it begins to sound not right for sure haha. They are notorious for exhaust manifold leaks as well as at the donuts on the up-pipes. I have a 5" straight on mine. Perhaps if you go 4" with a muffler i think you would be satisfied still. Let it breathe some.

Yeah I know about the manifolds and at some point mine were replaced. I'll keep an eye on it. Seems to go away when warm as you would expect so once it stops doing that I'll have to get it in. Have a mechanic down the road that seems like a good guy to work on it. Won't touch the AMG but I will give him a shot in the other two.

I think just cut the muffler out and straight pipe it as is would be good. I just don't know how much louder it will be and don't want it to drone.

I never have personally rode in a stock size straight piped truck. My drone comes in around 80mph if that helps lol. But again thats 5". So roughly 2800-3000 RPMs. Cant remember exactly since I haven't driven it in 1 1/2 months lol

Does anyone have a guide to ALL the interior plastic clips, or know of like a kit that comes with a few of all of them? I have broken at least one of every type and really need to get around to replacing them..

I was always intrigued by this kit but never bought it. I feel most are the same for the door panels etc. just different colors. It has like 3/4 interior toyota style ones. Plus it has exterior misc. clips. Bought a smaller one from HF and it has come in handy on multiple occasions for me. Worth a shot for $25.

I think my max revs are 3200

I cruise at 65, no need to go fast and that's like 1700rpm I think. I have an stretches at 75mph but the problem is there's no rpm left for it to downshift if you needed it. 4spd ain't great in that regard.

    What gears are in that?

It was listed with 3.55 so it's a dog. It can keep up with traffic fine, but getting up to speed takes a minute. Compared to a gasser van I think it's gotta be way better, but compared to the taco and the AMG it's a fucking anchor.

I can't imagine a gasser, especially a dogshit Ford gasser with those gears even moving. They'd probably have 4.11s though and move just fine but chew through fuel and 4R100s at that weight. Most of their V8s from that time are weak as can be and the V10 while an absolute workhorse is gutless.

Guys like the v10 vans and they do have enough torque to move, but well into the single digit fuel economy. I manage 12 which isn't so bad with a 10k# curb weight.
