Denting usually happens when dropping an expended mag.
In the vast majority of the time, this make no difference in functioning.
But there you are.

Cracking, well, it's polymer... known to happen, particularly in very cold temperatures.
Again, in the vast majority of the time the mag is still functional, unless it's the feed lips.

i like the aluminum magazines with anti tilt followers. There are some steel ones too. They work just are a tad heavier.
