i fell like getting a 3-6' lift will mess up my tacoma no matter how much i put into it or who I give my truck to, its either something is vibration, rubbing, falling apart or wheel alignment is mess up. So what I'm trying to say is will getting a lit jack up my truck for the rest of its use?:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Well if you get a lift then , yes , it will jack up your truck , but isn't that the idea ?

    I'm sorry , I'm Canadian , am I missing something here ?

I think I know what you mean OP, I'm a 5 lugger but I've heard that 6" isn't worth how good it would look. From what I understand, it would demo the front end and stuff. Idk though.

Mines not messed up.... nothing falls apart or off when i drive.

Do the research and find out what you would want for your needs. I dont think a 1-3in lift will really make much life altering changes to the truck.

Not saying its always the case :) Like I said, I can only say so much bc I don't even have the same truck as you lucky guys do. That's just stuff I've heard before.

Alignment was exactly where i told them to align it to. The UCA's i bought are extremely adjustable, and i dont have any rub that I have found yet, not even stuffed. But i will continue to try

FIRST of all ask yourself "why do you need a lift"?

Clearance for Off road fun and games? Asthetics? Do you haul heavy loads and need stiffer suspension?

If you are going off road with the truck to the point where you need a6" lift there are many other areas of your truck you should be worrying about damaging and protecting with sliders , bumper guards..and I am sure a lot more mods for serious wheeling..

If it is purely for Aesthetics....well IMO that's a lot to deal with for 3" higher truck. Expense, suspension Warranty is gone, and will it really make any difference for those risks and expense? 3" is not a lot for all the expense and work involved really.

IF you haul heavy loads I would get an adjustable Airbag system.

And after you are done with that , we can help you pick out your lift components .

My truck is lifted 3" and I have no problems, the alignment is a little off but once I get new UCAs that will not be a problem anymore. I would stick with 3" of lift or less.

When you lift your truck, you're crossing over a line.

On one side is your basic-transportation-solid-as-a-rock-reliable-don't-worry-about-it-truck.

On the other side, now is your hobbyist-tinker-toy-tweak-this-fix-that-improve-it-some-more-hobbyist-special ride.

Lift your truck, you might ride stiffer, get driveline vibrations (likely) Vehicle-Stability-Control issues (about 1 in 6 chance) and wear out CV boots and U-joints faster. You'll get worse mileage, and probably want bigger and more expensive wheels and noisier tires that wear out sooner and don't grip as well on smooth or rainy pavement. Hobbyist-off-roader-tweakers don't care about any of this. They embrace the change and the challenge. They drive their trucks on trails that hang up, scratch, or dent stock trucks.

The want-a-rock-solid-don't-worry-about-it-reliable-truck guys cringe, and rightly so.

Your choice. Where do you want to be?
