@Ozark_RegCab I'm not trying, ...okay I'm not trying my hardest at least, to pick on you. But you gotta know the basics before you come start debating the merits of a system

I'd like to. Been keeping an eye but nothing here as of yet. No sunroof is a great option.
(Haven't seen any new GX on the lot either.)
From what I understand ordering a Toyota is different versus other manufacturers.

I'm not hunting like I was a few months ago, but those at least make me curious as far as a new 4x4. I'm just over all the tech in new stuff. Who wants ChatGPT in their fucking car?

VW just walked back all their haptic buttons because nobody liked them and it hurt sales, so all new models now have physical buttons again....but also ChatGPT. I'm sure everyone else will soon enough.

It's not overrated it just isn't the best answer for modern motoring. The thing is still a friggin tank of a motor.

I did wonder if the Toytec 3” could were giving me any more travel with the stock UCAs and 5100s. Also, do the 98+ Tacos have more rear travel cause of the longer leaf springs?

Because you're bored and wish to partake in some friendly banter; more like pushing someone back on Logic Road and off the dirt trail labeled Skepticism Ave

5100s have the same extended length as stock, and yes 98+ do have more rear travel, although not much, the springs are only 3" longer.

Honestly I wish a had a 4Runner for the extra space. I’m not really a fan of truck beds unless you want your stuff getting wet or stolen. It looks like they flex better from the factory too, but I could be wrong.

I'm jumping in; you realize that it isn't the "lift" itself that is attributing to the added travel but more the specific coilover itself?

You do realize you can easily look up the technical specifications of different brand shocks to see their actual travel?

King and Fox 2.5's come pretty close to one another, with ADS really being the best traveling (keeping this conversation specific to mid-travel).

And running OEM cv axles, they won't bind as quickly as a parts store axle.

So in short, stock coilovers are the biggest inhibitor to wheel travel on a 1st Gen Tacoma.

Replace those coilovers, and now we're looking at CV axles before upper control arms.

I guess I was thinking my setup didn’t have any more travel than stock then. You’d need expensive coil overs like Kings to make that happen I suppose.

I had King 2.5's front and back on that rig...but then I shouldn't be flexing like that because your logic says aftermarket coilovers do not provide more wheel travel :burp:

I see lots of bitching about 100s limited downtravel being the LCA. It's the UCA pressing against the frame mount U that is higher on the rear that arrests down travel.
