    Maybe. Was a solid setup.
35s would fit today, even lowered :anonymous: I never did get to try that but based on the geometry it would work. Would've looks wild.

Imagine owning a truck for over a year with shitty suspension you complain about and never doing anything about it :burp:

I've seen your truck when you'd wheel it, definitely a nice setup.

It lacked travel but it was capable, and most importantly, reliable. Outside of a failed alternator it was perfect.

They have some of the worst reliability ratings according to CR. The drivetrains are actually decent, and the axles are way better than anything new from Toyota. Hell, I’d take the linked Dana 44s over the 80 series axles. But all the electrical gremlins and poor build quality lets them down.

If only Toyota could get their head out of the sand and build something with the same or similar axle/suspension set up under it.

I've seen a few instances of that on the forum, not often

Kind of wish mine did so I could've replaced it with the Grand Vitara one

The starter did fail though; easy rebuild

Hey, like the 22RE, reliability is overrated. You have a warranty. Even get a ZF trans. Get on it.

It just stops there. I do have dual super bumpstops on the LCA to arrest up travel. Those work like helper springs and lift one side or the other over a washout to keep the wheel from tucking up into the wheel well.

If I need more downtravel on one side of the front, then I'm usually twisting, and the bumps push one side up and the opposite side goes lower. It twists the frame, but that's ok.

Yea a warranty isn’t always that useful. I talked to someone that got one with never ending electrical gremlins and fluid leaks, and the dealer just gave him the runaround. They tried telling him ATF coating the underside was just grease, and he traded it for a 2500 Cummins since the “service department said it was fine”.

A former coworker is having a similar ordeal with his oil-burning 5.0 F150. They were telling him it was within normal range, so he might be stuck with it unless he takes it to corporate. Meanwhile my shitbox with 250k on the clock only loses about a quart every 5k, and his Ford burned 5x that amount basically off the lot.

The 2 door ones are pretty cool

Not cool enough to deal with the 3.slow or a 4banger in one, but I like the look

Welp. Moral of the story: EVERYTHING SUCKS.
Just choose the one you can best live with and figure it out without overthinking.

You should worry less about everything you'll never own and more about fixing your truck

I became a diehard WRC fan when my dad took me to watch them (we lived in Germany)

It continued when he let me get into it in the RC world
