Uhg now I need a cut chart instead of all the tool profiles I made.

I guess the feed rate will carry over.

Table has the latest firmware, and Firecontrol has remain unchanged for some years (still 1.6)

It's just something they ignored altogether

I do remind people in my group often though "it is absolutely the most affordable table on the market" so I can't expect much myself if I'm convincing others to feel the same way

Basically yes, but the cam output of f360 apparently has only a few brands/models with native support.

Yeah feedrate carries over, and kerf width is absolutely considered in your tool paths

You just have to manually adjust pierce delays; but you said your cut height was off

Did you never use the cut height in the post process section?

In the back of my mind, I still consider going with the extruded aluminum way and going rack and pinion for my movement (making a new table)

The problem is I don't know of anything else I'd be able to use outside of Mach 3

That would be interesting. I just want a used Haas VF2, is that too much to ask. I could turn that into a money printer really fast

    Ahhh that makes sense!

My cut height programmed is 0.045" which translates to a physical cut height of 0.06"

So there's a little deviation you have to make up for

A buddy of mine just bought a few haas machines and is starting a real machining business of his own.

Whichever version I am running has the .02 ihs setting built in... And fusion was adding as much as .06 depending on the extruded material thickness it seems

My former shop foreman and close friend started his own machine shop last year, doing mostly manual work but is now looking to buy a VF4 and SL30. I'm excited for him. I actually liked creating tool paths for them because Haas has awesome canned cycles and post processor support.

I've only had experience with a gx series Bridgeport, and with the auto edge finder and touch off functions it did everything you told it to without a ton of thinking required.

I've never got to play with any of the Bridgeport cncs, even the converted knee mill style ones. I've only messed with Haas machines and Fadal, and the Haas Auto edge finding is pretty damn good. They've got two different styles of edge finder now, for most of the stuff I did because it was all Job shop work I just touched off by hand.

Yeah springback is there regardless; try it on a sketch for an item you didn't extrude (I don't extrude half the stuff I cut) and it'll still occur.

So i logged into the book of faces for the first time in 5 years. Its very very creepy how good the 'people you may know' recommendations' are - several people i've met since, but barely interacted with.

@Kwikvette So which group is the one with all the good plasma table info?

On the upside, my feed is full of far side comics for some reason.
