These simple homemade truck bed campers are nothing more than a semi-hard side tent in the bed with very few amenities, and most of them seem to leak all over the place.
After dealing with a wet bed, a heat system that requires assembly, less room than a tent, no insulation, no real kitchen. I can understand why they get sold. Good idea, crap execution.

Edit, not to mention the gymnastics required to get into them.

Mine does not leak, but done would say it requires gymnastics to get into bed. But that’s fine, I’m a healthy young guy.

Good idea, well executed. Just bad business execution.

The one I really love is the AT Habitat.

Granted it costs more than my house but that design is superior to the wedge style IMO. Only down side is it’s heavier and isn’t a 10 second deployment.

I’m trying to unfuck my wife’s Verizon account, that I’m now regretfully part of.

Anyone have mint mobile here? Or T-Mobile? The new customer deals are great compared to my $160 a month unlimited bill. Yes I’m paying everything & they don’t even have my correct name & my SIM card keeps dying every time I fly. I’m just sick of the bullshit & because my name is fucked I cannot change anything. She’s called over 2/3 weeks & no changes. Talk about a headache. Phones are paid off & I cannot believe it’s this f’d & high.

It has me living in Jeffco & her in Arapahoe. Seems Jeffco fees are less than Arapahoe.

Do you have Xfinity internet? Can bundle your mobile with them and save a decent chunk of monthly change

I do have comcast wifi. Is it unlimited? I’ll go to there website too. We’re in Wyoming a lot camping & that’s why I passed on it years ago. We go to Thermopolis every summer now

I hunt north park and never had trouble with mobile service. Seemed to work fine back home in SoDak as well. We're on Verizon currently but will going back to Xfin mobile soon.

There are different plans you can choose from. All way cheaper than VZW and pull from the same towers

I think I'm over 250 nights in mine, and it's perfect for what I do.

When people try to turn them into something they're not, like a full-blown camper, is when it goes wrong IMO.

You mean, adding 1500lbs of crap taking the total weight 800lbs over GVWR isn’t a good thing? :bananadead:

    Nope!

I would love a new Tundra with a flatbed and Four Wheel Camper, though.

But obviously, that would have a completely different use than the Taco and GFC setup.

Yep. That’s why I don’t have a “build out” or interior in my setup. Open bed, fridge and some wolf packs strapped down. Gear tossed in. If I wanted to hide inside a structure when camping, I’d buy an RV.

Principal of one of the schools I work on has a Tundra with a 4-wheel camper, always park next to it when I go there. He and his wife use it to camp in the ski resort parking lots.
That truck has so much pinstriping down the sides, he's gone places I haven't.

    Well... Tried to get Rosalee's @Wulf .
Didn't feel like waiting 45mins for a table. Not sure if I'll try again or not. For one, it's on main Street. Really hate urban main Street areas. Menu looked weird. Cheese only slices or $100 with toppings.
Trying out old Brett's Mama Roni

Sounds like you've got some competition, albeit your camper is a bit bigger

Mine's the same width as a 4-wheel camper. Just has a thicker bunk. He's running a 2nd gen , so that may explain the extra stripes.
