You are going to loose money no matter which way you slice it. People like to feel good about themselves if they “think” they are getting a deal. Never really are though. House always wins as they say, ya know.

Never have traded in a vehicle before, usually run them into the ground, then rebuild, and run it ground again, repeat until I am finally fed up, then be nagged by my wife until I finally throw in the towel, break down and buy a new truck. Lol!

The dealer didn’t play games with me, other than trying to get me in cab configuration I didn’t want, had a deposit on a Ford Ranger across the street, which I told him. Said whoever gets me a truck first gets my money. He didn’t pull any bullshit after that.

Definitely do this. They offered me $37.5k trade-in on my 4Runner. With the tax offset it amounted to about $40k equivalent.

I ran it through carmax/vroom/carvana and Vroom came back with $40,950 based on 19.5k miles. Realized it was actually 21.4k miles and resubmitted and they adjusted the offer to about $40.6k. I also had the pro-rated 10yr/100k Platinum warranty refund to get back that amounted to $1150. So, by selling it outright to Vroom and cashing in the extended warranty I ended up with $41,750.

With the already sky high MSRP, it's even more insulting with the ridiculous add-ons.

That’s crazy the increase in PIO prices. My 22 has all weather floor liners and door sill protectors as PIO: $248.
now just the mats are $339. Are they different than liners? Do they come with a Tacoma bro hoodie and socks?

You said no to this truck, correct?

I refuse to buy a Toyota of any kind with all that stuff, loaded from the greedy distributor.

The Toyota all weather floor mats are a joke. Better off buying Husky or Weather Tech.

Good. People need to refuse port loaded trucks and 4Runners that are being loaded like that. I’d buy a Colorado before I’d buy a ripoff Tacoma like that.

I hope people wise up to this ripoff and say hell no.

So my 2022 was a SET Tacoma, it had all that junk, I told dealer either take it off or take it off the price and they did. Just depends on the dealer. Only thing they wouldnt take off is Toyoguard which is just 2 extra oil changes and some spray on sealant.

There is a buyer somewhere that wants exactly those options? Seems unlikely. Bloat! Call it Toyoguard-ADM and be transparent.

Oh ya, especially when they tack on their stupid XP packages.

Gotta disagree here, they cover the floor and keep dirt out of the carpet just like their intended purpose.

Dealer dependent, that option can be negotiated as well. The 4Runner I bought my wife recently had that on it. Wanna say it was listed as a $4500 option (give or take). I told them I didn’t want any of it, knowing I’d add tires/wheels myself later.

They knocked $2500 off the package, to which I agreed to buy the vehicle. I figured $2k for wheels and tires wasn’t dreadful.

Never said it wasn't, just that it was a stupid overpriced add on.

Yeah, that’s what I was getting at. I mean if the line is backed up with non-hybrids it would make sense they delay the hybrids.

And the dealer knows it. Guess my opinion on most any add-on (dealer or port installed) is that only a fool pays for them.

The stockers are thin and will wear out faster. Husky or Weather Tech cover a touch more of the carpet, the rear section goes over the trans tunnel too.

Would have liked all rubber flooring, but they don’t offer it anymore. Especially during the winter with all the snow and salt that gets tracked in.

In the dirt and mud a lot, carpet gets beat and tends to hold in odors. You should smell my old truck, no matter how many times I scrubbed that carpet, still stinks. Spill coffee a couple few times, and….ya know? Cloth seats get destroyed too, like to eat in my truck. New truck have been laying a towel over my lap, not to drop food in between my legs and get that stain in the middle like my old truck, those seats got absolutely destroyed, so trying to keep the new one nice as long as possible. Which is very hard for me, since I like to use it as intended.
