What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Recent updates to the SSO thread have some people receiving bumpers now but I would just stay away from them until they get it all sorted. I have the front hybrid bumper and I love it and get compliments on it all the time. But I've been telling people to wait or just get one from elsewhere.

 

Removed the predator steps as well. They are for sale since they are still basically new.

Installed a Anderson Spacer and URD Y-pipe. The truck now actually uses 6th gear again on the HWY after bigger tires...

 

This is probably my favorite mod besides my camper shell.

 

Mounted and half way wired the ditch lights up. But I couldn’t figure out if I need a relay or not with this switch. The ss2s look good I wish I had some extras in ambers. Does anyone have a link to the fuse or aux under hood setups. I don’t want to use an auxbeam on this truck I don’t think.

 

Cured over night sanded it down with 600 grit sand paper then top coated with Seymour MRO Flat Black high solid

 

Just ordered some BFG KO2s from Costco.

 

Beautiful pictures. Makes me cold just looking at them.

 

Added a tailgate pull strap. I used an old roller bag handle. Now I don’t have to push the filthy winter crud covered (sand paper like) tailgate when closing.

 

I wish I would have known about this adapter before I installed my dash cam. Way easier than running the super long usb cord to power. Oh well

 

Yeah, it was like a 5 minute install. Took longer to get the micro SD card out of the theft-proof package.

Do not be sorry yet. Just installed my adapter but my dashcam refuses to power up when the truck is off. This happens when the power source is just enough to power the unit but not charge the internal battery (battery not just uncharged but being drained just to supplement the cord power). Not as much an issue with my long USB cord wrapped around the windshield. Will experiment with long cord and dongar over the next couple of days.

But then the history of these micro-sized batteries in devices like smartwatches ... shorter life than one would like for the price of replacing the unit.

 

The Dongar harness makes installation super easy.

Just unplug the 12 pin from the back of the mirror….


Notice I already mounted the camera.

Then plug the 12 pin into the Dongar harness and plug the harness into the mirror and USB to the camera…..

I’m gonna unplug everything tomorrow and heat shrink everything together.

 

OTT tune today! Thanks Matt Clark with CRS tuning in meeting me today in GA! I went with the mild/medium combo and am very happy with it.
