Ultimate Ski/Snowboard Interest thread!!!

My kids were bitching about riding a lift in -17 degree weather. Soooo I'll aditude adjust those two with a snowshoe in -17 degree weather.

Being a dad is sooo much fun.

Shout-out to Smith Optics. They warrantee'd my I/O S that I bought back in '11 that the face foam started deteriorating last season on. Also the reflective coating on my red chromapop lenses had failed as well. They covered it and sent me a $210 voucher towards a new pair of goggles so I of course used it as an opportunity to upgrade to the I/O Mags.

 

I have a large face, I've been wearing the same Von Zipper Fishbowls for 10 years lol. Everything else I've tried feels too small coming from the fishbowls..

I had a very nice pair of I/O Mags briefly but sold them. Even their XL was too small

 

I'm the opposite, I've got a narrow face and high cheek bones so the OG I/O S fit about perfect. I ended up getting the low bridge version of the I/O Mags and the fit is pretty much the same.

 

I love my I/O mags. Favorite goggle so far

 

I managed to score first lift at Copper Saturday as well as Sunday. I am a broken man... like broken.

At age 46 I tried snowboarding for the last two days.

Last week a 60 year old scared the shit out of me at steamboat. Telling me story's of "I wished, I could have"

So I strapped one of those silly looking things on my feet told the nay sayers to eat a fat dick and went..... and went..... and went

1hr 7 minutes for my first run. Sprained growing and pretty sure I have fractures in my wrist.

This silly looking board is pretty fucking fun... I'm going to keep on keeping on

 

Props starting so late. I started skiing and switched as a teenager. One of my closest friends still ski's and everyrime we go up I think about trying skiing again, until he starts groaning about his boots. Maybe this season I'll rent a set of skis for shits and giggles.

 

Winter park was great today. Perfect snow for telemark. Dust on packed powder. Trees still have big stashes

 

The nice storm cycle we were in last couple weeks ended last weekend. But its still snowing up there right now, 3-5 inches coming this afternoon. I'm going night skiing tonight

 

Just spent seven days and an ungodly amount of money to stew in a backcountry Canadian lodge. Great skiing for days 1-2, mediocre skiing day 3, shut down the rest. Atmospheric river took freezing all the way to 10k+ and literally rained on our parade.
