    @Airdog truck looks absolutely beastly!

    Went to Ocotillo today, Just got it aligned last Tuesday. The steering wheel is already out of alignment. I've replaced everything except the R and P bushings, It's only 3 years old. Just put on DK LT with Derlin lowers, KPO octagonal cam tabs, DK cam tab gussets, heimed upper with double sheer, PRG tierod ends, war fab stiffeners. I'm not jumping it or doing "crazy shit" I know this is a weak point in the taco but damn. I saw someone mention solid bushing mounts on the R and P? I'm considering the JD fab slide rack but I think my wife would shoot me. I need to remind myself that this is still somewhat a stock truck... SMH

    At this point I just consider it a fun feature. Every time the girlfriend hops in the truck -- which is infrequently, she prefers our SUV -- she drops another "which clock arm is straight on the steering wheel today?" crack. And mines a 3rd gen, so no slide rack. I suppose I should Tundra swap it at some point.

    (11 o'clock is straight today, by the way.)

    You guys need a splined quick release wheel so you can adjust steering wheel center on the fly

    My previous 03’ taco was having this happen every time I hit dirt even just a dirt road, ended up being the rack.

    Build thread in sig... 4-link long travel
    hey west coasters, east coaster here doing some stupid LT stuff. i'm ironing out the last bits of geometry before chopping off the back half of the frame and caging the whole truck. going to be a 4 link rear running 18'' shocks off the axle (not from trailing arms). i have all my roll center, antisquat, pinion angles, etc worked out, but the only thing i haven't simulated is the ability of the driveshaft to cycle roughly 18 inches of travel. my spare driveshaft is tucked away in the shed, so while i'll of course field test, i'm trying to plan ahead. guessing it's pretty common for yall to just swap to a one piece shaft to lessen the driveshaft angles at full drop and bump, but i'd really love to keep a two piece for ground clearance purposes. seen dozens of tacoma driveshafts get mangled on trails out here, and it's almost always people who have switched to one pieces. no issue custom building a high angle two piece shaft, just wondering if i should be prepared to do so or not.

    just check your plunge but I’m cycling 21” with the oem driveshaft, had to shorten it because I’m running a ford 9” but it’s still the original shaft the truck came with.

    Appreciate it. What kind of pinion angle change are you seeing through the cycle?

    Pinion plunge will change more depending on how far away from the link mounts your driveshaft joint is at the frame. If it's inline, plunge should be minimal, and it will get more the further apart they are @colinb17

    So I called hi9, and as I thought their gears only work in their high pinion cases.

    Maybe my google skills suck, but haven't found any other 9" reverse cut gears.

    your angle shouldn’t change too much with a decent designed 4 link. But just depends on link length, my total plunge is 3/4” from full droop to bump.
