    Hey yall,
I am currently running with the KD Maxx Pro tune with sport throttle and was wondering if I would have to make any tuning adjustments if I were to install a cold air intake. Thank yall.

You already have one, my friend.

For the love of God, stay way from K&N oiled cotton filters. Any and all, cotton gauze filters for that matter.
You'll still be downgrading from OEM, but if you absolutely can't help yourself, at least wrap it in some sort of pre-filter, Outerwears or the like.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any recommendations for what cold air intake I should get if I choose to make that decision?

As has already been mentioned, you already have one straight from the factory, but if you want something that looks better then get the TRD version and toss the oiled filter and just use the paper filter that came with your truck. There will be zero performance increase over stock, maybe a tiny tiny bit more noise but probably not and you'll have that satisfaction of knowing you've got those pretty new parts under your hood that no one else can see while you're driving down the road.

Gotcha. Thanks for the advice. If there is no performance increase then I won’t even bother with it.

@FergBoi93, the only performance increase you will notice is extra noise from the engine compartment.

Waste of money and will only make the engine louder. There have been multiple dyno tests that have shown they do zilch on a modern engine. And as others have stated, your stock intake is a CAI. There are some "butt-dyno" types on here who will throw around phrases like, "I think, I feel, gulping down air," etc, but it's just down to engine noise. There's no empirical data to back up what they're saying. Your engine will also compensate for the correct fuel/air ratio so the truck isn't "gulping" down anything. Even Toyota's TRD Pro CAI intake or whatever they call it is nothing more than marketing because they've never published any numbers to show that it actually does anything.

The only thing aside from a full turbo or supercharger setup that has been shown to increase HP is something like the HPS intake tube. It deletes the stock resonator and that's it. Some independent dyno testing has shown *up to* 3-5hp improvement around 5k rpms, which the truck typically doesn't touch. It will make your engine louder too and you might want that or hate that. It's up to you if you think $220 is worth max of five horses when revving. I'd argue it's not, but that's like my opinion man.

Aside from forced induction and a tune there is no real way to get any significant gains out of this little mini van engine while staying street legal with the exception of a turbo or supercharger. But then you're looking at 8k-10k for purchase price, install, and tunes when all said and done. If you're already tuned then you've done the best bang for your buck engine mod. Kinda sucks but it is what it is.

If you wanted to roll the dice with non street legal mods, you could go full headers, straight pipe, URD y-pipe, cat delete, and see what happens lol.

There have been a couple of recent posts here with people showing loads of dirt and dust inside of their engines. They were running K&N filters. Stay with stock.

    best bet!

I have read it here many times, so it has to be true right? The airbox in our Tacoma's is the same setup in the V8 Tundra, if that gives you an idea of it's capacity.
