By any definition, it’s an insult and not related to my comments

Then stop responding to me. I made one silly comment while waiting in a lift line snowboarding and you harp on it forever. Who cares?

No modern vehicle is designed to go 400k miles. All new vehicles made in the last 20 years have way too many electronics on them that will fail and total out a vehicle before the turbo catastrophically takes out a motor.

Some weird electrical gremlin will getcha first.

The old days of first gen reliability have been over since the introduction of the second gen. Probably been rolling downhill since. Buy your turbo motor, enjoy it, but expecting anything to last like they used to is silly, turbo or not.

The low maintenance of them is very appealing. Need to get the battery tech better and I am there.

Same with EV dirt bikes, low maintenance and riding in darn near silence, again very appealing. On the dirt bike side of things, EVs get the same kind of flack…don’t think guys are looking at the advantages. The major complaint from other user groups is the noise, if that went away believe conflict will go down.

High load, low RPM situations hurt the EJ motors. Yes, the stock tune on the 2007+ cars are not ideal, but still.

My best friend sold his 2006 WRX wagon with 197k on the original driveline in 2018. Proper maintenance and not driving like a doofus helps.

They could engineer it to do so, but think they are expensive now. Plus there is engineered obsolescence built into everything we own. Have to keep the wheels of consumerism rolling doncha know.

I would say the introduction of the 1st Gen when they started to go heavy with the electronics, though almost every failure on mine was mechanical other than the fuel pump. Had an injector’s o-ring disintegrate but that was a seal failure not electronic.

I still want to build an EV sport tour to get to/from work. Just about 12 miles round trip. Very appealing. Just need a free or cheap frame. lol Also I had an old CRF230F trail bike. Sold it and miss it. Would love that frame for a conversion.

I will be transitioning from a 2012 Jeep to the new taco. Hopefully a TRD Pro if they ever release them… welcome to the forum.

Have been following along with Stark Varg. They are almost there, battery tech is the only thing holding them back.

Since my biodiesel conversion dreams have faded, have looked into converting an old Toyota Pickup into EV, can be done rather simply for running around. Do think it is best to just wait until Toyota builds one from the factory.

If I’m annoying the hell out of you, why don’t you stop responding to me? Instead you decide to cast insults around instead of having a good day on the slopes

The same thought may or may not have crossed my mind ;)

Thanks for the welcome. We've seen the rumors of Toyota filling up parking lots with new tacos waiting for all the red tape to disappear. Hopefully that means they've been doing the same for the hybrid trims and can stick to spring deliveries. I won't hold my breath though, this release hasn't quite been a smooth one for them.

Those are nice bikes. This company is offering kits. 5 components and you supply the frame. The company is owned by Baofeng who makes HAM radios some use on the trails. Also there is a company soon offering a conversion kit for pickups and that's coming in 2025. They supply motors to RIVIAN. It's a USA company. Built in motors and controllers at the axle. Can be made to fit any spec you provide. Some cool stuff coming. But...batteries. We need better batteries.

EV motorcycle conversion kits. Coming soon....so they say.

This is true. No one wants their product to last a long time anymore. Things like a washer/dryer used to last 30 years. Now if you get 7 years out of one it’s considered good.
Also it now costs more to fix them then to just throw away and buy new.

All of the new 911s have turbo engines but if you want the one with the "Turbo" badge you have to pay a lot more.

I have a Suzuki GS500E that I’m parting out. You can have the frame if you want. You probably won’t see this though because you have me on ignore.
