Seeing your truck has got me back on the twins. Absolutely love the look, and I've driven the Colorado so I know I love the ride and power. I just cant make up my friggin mind. Are your wheels 18 or 20 inch?

Similar situation with me. Be sure to join some of the FB groups so you are aware of the issues people are having with these trucks. I know all automobiles have issues but best to at least be aware.

I'm on the twins forums daily and that is probably the biggest reason I'm not driving one now. I ordered 2 Colorados last year and got cold feet on both of them.

they made the Colorado look like a Tacoma. That’s why it looks good now.

My hope is that the GM 2024 builds come out with the electrical glitches and problems resolved, as well as some of the assembly issues (door alignment, windshield cowling, etc).

It's also pretty standard that Colorado owners disable their collision avoidance due to the truck just going full brakes when a car pulls out a qtr mile down the road. I know GM isn't the only manufacturer that has issues with this. Trust me, I'm trying to convince myself that the issues aren't that bad because I really think 52K for a ZR2 is decent in this crazy market. Or maybe I'm just brainwashed that 52K is decent. The trucks also chime and bing a lot for whatever it's trying to tell the driver, the info screen goes black and a number of other things that owners just laugh off and say 'All you need to do is disconnect the battery for a minute! get over it dude!'

Nah that thread doesn't but there are several more that are concerning to me. I am weighing an AT4 or the new Tacoma. These are just from the first page and not including the 2 lemon buy back ones.

The brake pedal one is wild... others seem... annoying for sure. Lots of battery issues.

The OTA software issues were the biggest one. A ton of people were having that issue but everything else seems to be fairly uncommon.

And for those not aware, the OTA (over the air) update issue is the truck taking an update and then getting "stuck" so the vehicle never really shuts down all the way from an electronics standpoint. So the battery drains overnight and you wake up to a dead battery. I believe they've gotten it under control though. The rest of the truck seems VERY nice though. I went to a dealer and futzed with a blue ZR2 for about 30 minutes sitting in it and exploring everything it had to offer. I didn't drive one yet but it seems very promising.

I expect that the new Tacoma will have growing pains as well, given that it is no less a rolling computer than all other new vehicles. I know it is blasphemy, but I am seriously considering a Ridgeline for a few years until the Tacoma has some time to work out any issues.

Just for giggles I configured a 2024 Ridgeline Trailsport how I would spec one. It came out to a MSRP of $48,740. If I was looking for a light duty truck like vehicle the Ridgeline would be high on my list. One thing the Ridgeline does best is all the storage compartments.

The Ridgeline Black Edition with black paint does the best job of making it not look so much like a ridgeline. I might choose that over the trail edition for cooled seats, better stereo and a couple other things I can't think of at the moment.

    One-hundred-thousand-percent.

The in-bed sealed storage compartment is incredible. It's so big you can literally get inside of it. It solves a problem that all truck owners have; not having a trunk. And the dual action "swing-gate" is bad ass. It allows you to access things further in the bed without jumping into it.

Honestly, if the next gen Ridgeline was a bit more offroady with slightly sharper styling, I'd be strongly considering it.

Hope it treats you well. GM opted to put a full size motor in their midsize truck. Toyota opted to put a Highlander motor in their midsize truck. We'll all see how this shakes out soon.
