New Truck!

Well, RIP to my Taco. Insurance company finally totaled it out and I found a good deal on another truck, albeit not a Taco. This deal was too good to pass up. It does have more miles than I'd like, but at least I still have some factory warranty and it was meticulously maintained.







The taco was a short lived adventure, it will surely be missed (as I stop at each and every gas station, lol).

Nice looking Titan. BTW, I'm the guy who bought your all weather mats, so part of your old truck still lives!

 

And I have to add, thats quite a change from a standard cab Tacoma!

Yeah, quite a change indeed. Quite a bit bigger, but when push came to shove, I just couldn't pass up the deal. Bigger than I need for the most part, but the regular cab taco just didn't have the storage/hauling capacity I need for track days. Plus, the V8 will be less strained on the highway. I almost bought a nice used double cab taco, but it would have cost me about $6k more.

I will miss driving stick. This is my first automatic in over 11 years!

Nice truck and wish you the best. Are you gonna keep the stock tires or swap em out and what mods planned?

 

I'll probably do some 5100's all the way around soon since these are the original shocks. Tires will get changed, but not for a little while. Two are brand new and the others are half left. I'll probably get another year out of them since I ride the motorcycle for about 8 months out of the year. Other than that, I might throw a couple bolt ons on the engine and call it a day. I had plans of more radical off-road stuff with my Taco but this truck is bigger in every regard and while I'm sure it is capable, I'm not sure I want to do serious off-roading with it. Nearly anyone can pull a 3600 lb taco out of the mud, but a 5000+ lb titan is another story - especially when it is wider, taller, longer, etc. I'll definitely need to take someone along with a larger rig.

 

Hey Nissan, you should make the badges bigger on your TITAN trucks.

 

I went from an ext cab Titan to my regular cab Taco. I love my taco but still miss the Titan. The power was the best part.
I would Highly reccomend getting the timing advanced 2 degrees. It really helps with power and does not require to use premium fuel.

Also if you would be interested in some Hellwig helper leaf springs I have some that I took off my old Titan. They really helped with axle wrap and from keeping the back end from squatting down when loaded.

As far as shocks go check out www.prgproducts.com. Greg was the suspension guru on titantalk and very helpful with making sure you get what you need.

lol, That's always bothered me. glad to see it bothered someone else too.

But, in all honesty, from those pictures, I see a lot of similarities to the tacoma (interior).

 

It's for the sight impaired. And yeah, almost scary that it looks more like a Tacoma than the Tundra.
