Long Range Automotive - Fuel Tank 34 gallon

Got mine sorted and love it. Had to order and wait - ran into a few challenges during install (shops fault), but all good now. Going 500-600 miles on a tank (or 300 towing) is awesome. I can get to the track without stopping now.

 

500-600!? I was excited to get 350 on my last trip. First time not towing or with a box/boat on the roof in years.

 

Can you get these installed and be able to correctly monitor the gas level?

 

In my experience, you just read full longer, but once it starts dropping it’s comparable to stock.

 

I have similar experiences. I have yet to run it dry to figure out the actual usable capacity of the tank but I have not put more than 27 gallons in. I’m guessing the reserve is pretty big cuz I have ran it til the gas light goes on a few times

Mine is still functioning fine. The truck will likely be up for sale by next month though. Someone else will enjoy the extra range.

 

Another 27gal fill with the gauge needle on the last hash and 8 mi on range left (which isn’t accurate at all). Would like to just keep going until it can’t but haven’t been able to time it properly with my work schedule and don’t want to be on the freeway dumping a gas can in it. 360mi range ~ 13.2mpg

can the swap be done at home? is it hard?

i have the 33gal tank from long range america. seems like here in florida theya re charging $1500 -2000 and i dont want to pay that.

For install? You could almost do it yourself with another friend to help remove the bed. It looks mostly bolt-on/plug and play

 

Install is difficult but not impossible to DIY. I did it with @6 gearT444E in a day. The only bummer was a face full of gas from accidentally swapping the lines.

I am quite convinced this tank is closer to 28gal. Just put in 27.3 gal. Gas light was on and range was ‘please refuel’ for a few miles. Needle was not completely below the last E tack mark. Wondering if there’s anyone with a significant difference in capacity than the 27-28gal.

 

you could always run it low, then pull the drain bolt, then measure how much you put in from there.

 

Except my JDf frame brace is in the way lol
