    I'd love to take a detector onto those mounds of rock - I'm sure they have been picked over but I'll
    be money there are nuggets, lots of 'em left in those piles. Back in the day, years ago I saw nuggets pulled out of the Yuba as big as a baseball.

    I miss that place. I used to live in California and the Goldfields were the main place I enjoyed hosting events, and was the first place I had played airsoft back in 2008 (When the rock crushing building was more built up, and had less nails)

    @klowie Great pic!
    I'll be headed down to La Paz in March. I'll be camping on the way down (sooo looking forward to it!). The fam will fly in to La Paz and we'll roam around the east cape for a bit down there...

    - Please let me know of any sights I should not miss, and if you have any recommendations for camping spots, I could really use these!
    (I have not driven down that far in quite a few years!)

    At this time, I expect my first stop to be in Ensenada - That night is all set.

    I will continue South on Hwy 5 and after stopping to visit the "valley of the giants" (Area with Giant cactus - as suggested by Baja-Bound - @David K ) I expect to camp somewhere on the beach around "Punta Final" which is on the coast East of Catavina, at the point where Hwy 5 starts to head inland to meet-up with Hwy 1. My next stop should be San Ignacio - or San Javier (The mission site by Loreto - or I may hit that on the way back...). Then La Paz and the east cape with the fam.

    That is the plan - roughly. 4-5 hours on the road daily. I will take some off-road tracks of course as I make my way. This may slow me down a bit. And may impact the distance covered.

    I'll be stopping to look at interesting stuff take pictures, eat snacks, etc. so this will fill-up the days comfortably. Setting off early and finding a camp site, and set-up at a reasonable hour... etc.
