The stock lug nuts and TPMS from a TRD OR work just fine with the 4Runner SEMA 17”x7” wheels. I think Toyota uses the same lug nuts and TPMS on the Sport.

For anyone interested, here is the clearance that I have with the slightly larger Wildpeak AT3Ws @ 32.4” on a completely stock TRD OR suspension with +15 mm offset wheels. The offset is the critical variable to prevent rubbing.

I also checked the UCA clearance while articulating. The first picture is normal ride height with the UCA about horizontal. The second picture is with the truck jacked up to allow for full droop (with sway bar attached).

(The clean spot on the UCA is from my glove, not tire rubbing.)

What MPG’s are you averaging with the wildpeak 275’s? I’m putting 275’s or 285’s on SEMA wheels with a 2” lift. I have been staying away from buying the wildpeaks due to weight but they are a great tire, I had them on my Silverado and loved them. I’m looking at Toyo at3’s, ko2’s, and Toyo open county RT trails.

I’m getting about 17 - 18 MPG on my daily drive, which is mostly highway and a little city. I was getting 18 - 19 with the factory tires. I have a manual transmission. If you have an automatic, you might see different numbers.

Thanks for the math lesson I had 18 sheets is 1/2"plywood in the bed when I got the tires installed that day.

I honestly have no idea what the real differences are, I just know it's the "new version" of the AT3W. There isn't much data about it because it hasn't officially hard launched from Falken. Very similar to the K03 that's been soft launched in a few sizes from BFGoodrich. I pulled this article, looks like marginal performance improvements, both on and off road. Just figured I'd pass along the info since I came across it.

https://www.torquenews.com/1083/new...=Falken says that the new, over the old A/T3W.

I took a drive in the mountains today from Denver -> Golden Gate Canyon State Park -> Nederland -> Boulder -> Denver and managed to get 19.4 MPG on 275 Wildpeak AT3Ws. This was all mountain highway driving.

Thats pretty good considering the added weight of the tire over the stock wheel/tire weight. I guess I wont worry so much about the details and trying to save 5-6 lbs per tire. I'm mostly driving in the Metro Atlanta area and average 18 or so city, with stock 265/65R17's on a 2" 5100 lift with the air dam removed. If I loose 2-3 mpgs I don't care, I just don't want to loose 6-8 mpgs by going E or C rated 275's. If that was the case, I'd most likely try to fit 285's in an SL load rating, which are lighter, but have less tread depth and don't look as aggressive on most brands, like the MT Baja Boss. I was seriously considering those tires in a 265/70R17 but i decided against that size because I feel in my head i'll always know I should have gone bigger. Then I was looking at those in the 285 Baja Boss along with the Cooper Rugged Trek, Open Country AT3 and RT Trail, and BFG Ko2's. I saw on a thread for the Baja Boss AT's that the sidewall on the SL rated tires looked very mild in comparison to the LT rated tires.

Ahhh decisions, decisions, decisions. I might pull the trigger on the new Wildpeak AT4's in 275 since they have a longer treadwear warranty in comparison to the Open Country RT Trails which I love the look of, but only have a 45k warranty. But after 45k, I'll either be trading this in on a '25-26 Tacoma (If they go over well in the next couple of years) or lift this a little more and go with 285's and call it a day. I usually change vehicles every 3 years or so anyways. I've only got 7,600 miles on the truck so I'm not planning on tuning it at least until the bumper to bumper warranty is gone.

@electricsam - Curious if your speedometer has been re-calibrated for larger tire size?

Using the “your speed is” sign down the street from me the speedometer seems closer with the larger tires than with the factory tires. At about 30 MPH, the truck’s digital speedometer is either the same as the sign or 1 MPH less. So maybe it’s about 0.5 MPH off at that speed.

When changing over to the 275's from the stock 265/65R17's, did you guys use a speedometer/odometer calibrator? On the Wrangler that I had years ago, I bought a Hypertech module that you just plugged in and set the correct tire size and that was it. I'm seeing two options here for the Taco, but they are both In-line calibrators. I only have a Mac at home, but I have a PC at work although not a laptop. I see there is a rough country and a Hypertech module that I can use. The R.C. is about $100 cheaper than the Hypertech. Anyone have experience with either of these? Also, from the reading I've done on them it seems that you hook it up to the computer via USB and then use their online software to program the module, then install it in the truck, correct? That would mean i wouldn't need a laptop PC and could use the one I'm using now at work.

No I just used the many radar speed displays around town it doesn't seem to be off by much if anything. So just not worth the cost to adjust it at this time

That's very close to what I experienced on a 2,000 mile road trip last month comparing Waze vs. truck's speedo.

Yeah thats kind of what I was thinking. I was a little more worried about my odometer. But technically would it read less miles or more than actually driven? I guess if you're traveling faster than it thinks, you're covering more ground than it thinks, so the odometer would read a little lower than it technically should. Maybe not a bad thing for resale, but if I was trading the truck to a dealer, they could potentially say that they would consider it a true mileage unknown vehicle and offer a ton less than what its worth. Not that I'm really worried about that but I saw it happen when I sold cars years ago.

I'm not too keen on spending that much money to correct the speedo that little bit either.

I have noticed on the GPS it says 141 miles and on the odometer it days 139 miles with stock tires.
