I do have AAA. The tags were paid on time back in May. I wonder if I take in the results of my passed smog if I can get the sticker at AAA

 

You can find the DMV machine at Safeways also, at least at the ones near me (union city / fremont)

I imagine they should be able give you the tags.

So... it's final countdown / trash to get shit done before Tuesday.

Starts with tomorrow driving my truck (hot) to work again. I had to clear codes for the P0710 code. Now it needs to pass all the monitors before I can smog it. Hoping to get tags tomorrow.

Still need to also:
Put the bed platform back together.
Pack the spares and tools back in the truck.
Adjust parking brake.
Install new steering rack bellows.
Replace aux battery.
Air out RTT and wash bedding.
Fill propane bottles.
Charge batteries for tools
Charge back up handheld
Charge GoPros and drone



Would like to:
Wrap exhaust.
Gusset the rear leaf hangers.

Desert run.... out to dunes and then looping back around to Chocolate Thunder.

I'll be on the slow train in the 4runner. Should be a good mix of go fast - rock donkeys.

So... I got the truck smogged. It passed. Drove it 70 mles to get the monitors ready for smog. So I drove around aimlessly for a couple hours and burned a bunch of fuel... but I digress.

Then... I went to AAA. The answer to the previous conversation, for the record, is... no, they can't give me a sticker.

The useless fucking halfwits at DMV can't give me a sticker either.

Because I paid my registration on time and then got my smog... I have to wait for them to arrive in the mail.

I swear, you'll see me on the news if I get pulled over for expired tags.

 

Just have the receipts on you. I had to do that once in AZ. Didnt have the tags and the paper flew off. Got pulled over, and handed them that and the cop was cool. But this was circa 2005 ish
