Milwaukee Tools

Recommendations for impact wrench? I'm a garage mechanic doing DIY stuff. I like the choices of a 1/2" drive, but it's more than I need.

 

We have a couple of the 1/2" ones and love them. But, we have a problem when it comes to Milwaukee products - we're huge fans.

As someone that does CNC work from home that's pretty cheap!

Made one of those for a local out here for his packout; I used 12 gauge I believe for that stuff so other's might be interested to see what you guys use.

 

I would have paid double to have this at the beginning of my hunting season, when I built a new shooting house and needed to flush up some roughly sawzall'd shooting windows. I'd probably never have a need for it again, but sometimes it just pays off to have the right tool for the job, even if the "right" tool is the "wrong" tool technically. I could see it being handy for a variety of things; the issue is remembering you have the tools when you need them, and not reaching for something else out of old habit.

 

I've got the 12v fuel version and its great. For $71 thats a decent deal but it is a older non fuel version, personally I would wait till there's a really good deal for the 12v or 18v fuel to buy it.

 

As others have eluded to. It's something I had never previously thought I "needed". Then after getting one I realized how many situations where that tool was perfect.

 

I have 2. One ryobi and one m12. Use them both all the time.

 

The m12 fuel is a beast! I use it all the time for work. One of my favorite tools.

it's really not worth it for $70. i would wait to include it as part of a free tool deal.

drywall and custom framing is where i've always used mine the most. it's came in handy a few times with metal, but cuts pretty terribly. the best thing to use it for is drywall and wood.

 

I agree with this. I cut open so much drywall in the last couple of days!

 

I've been using my M12 Fuel a lot for cutting out rotten pieces of exterior trim boards in situations where replacing the entire piece has challenges. I make a few scores with a utility knife using a combination square as a guide, then follow up with the multi-tool. Results in a very clean cut.

 

I’ve got this model and I recommend holding out for the brushless. Mine gets hot AF and throws sparks (common with age).
