4th Gen Tacoma (2024+)

The signs have already been there for some time. I bet auction houses are going to be full and start driving down used car values even more than what we were seeing. With Vroom though they were on death watch for some time. Stock below $1 since October. I wonder what their inventory count was.

 

I looked a few weeks ago and there was virtually nothing on their search

 

It sure feels like something bad *wants* to happen.

 

Oh wow! Looks like I dodged a bullet on that one. It would suck to have a transaction in process when they shut the doors.

Guessing they started liquidating their inventory before going tits up and could not become liquid.

 

some of you gen 1 and gen 2 folks might get to slip into a gen 3 for a good price. But you gen 3 guys might get bent over on trade if you were looking to upgrade to the gen 4.

 

That's all going to depend on G4 availability and how the market accepts G4 pricing.

 

I don’t consider vehicle prices dropping a bad thing. Hopefully there’s a correction to get prices back to normal.

 

Maybe just normalizing. The pandemic funny money is fading away.

 

Thinking of the end year, should be able to get some gonga deals. Maybe picking up a second slightly used 3rd Gen for the mrs. Already finding a few, with trade-ins for the ‘24 might have even better selection in the Fall/Winter.

 

Yep, looks like they are about to drop around 240 million in inventory on the wholesale market (10K cars give or take) I'm guessing Carmax and Carvanna are not very happy right now with that many used late model cars dropping on the market, pricing is about to get a whole lot tighter for them. Carvanna should by all intensive purposes be out of business as well, its a matter of time.
