The "shit list" is a great idea. It's amazing that people will borrow tools and not return them. There isn't a tool in the world worth ruining a friendship over and the borrower is responsible for that relationship.

I recently bought a used mechanics cart since I now have a concrete floor, and all my tools that are being used on a project live on that cart so I always know exactly where they are if not put away in the tool box. And when a job gets done... back in the box. That cart may be the best fifteen bucks I've ever spent.

Whoopee! Another sunny warm (49*) day! After kicking my butt with a new kettlebell workout yesterday, I spent a lot of the day outside catching up on my vitamin D. Beautiful! If anyone is looking for me today, I’ll be back outside soaking up some more sun!
Hope everyone has the same opportunity. Have a great day outside!

I've got my "No car advice list" for people who ask for advice and then ignore it. I told my SIL, who's on it, that it's like Santa's naughty list except unlike Santa once you're on my list you stay on it...forever

All this talk about tool boxes , I've got a Snap On tool box that I bought brand new off of the Snap On truck back in 2003 . It is still in great condition and what I like is the warranty . Snap On has a lifetime warranty as long as you're the original owner

The box I've got is their classic 7 drawer roll away # KRA4107

I worked for Snap-on back when God was in diapers. The SLC distribution center, which is closed now. We had a guy come in to warranty a screwdriver that was obviously abused... which is specifically exempted from warranty consideration. The tool had been used as a chisel and the tip was shattered and the handle was about a quarter the normal length due to being pounded on with a hammer. Truthfully, we warrantied very few tools because Snap-on sells some damn good tools. In reading the warranty standards from Snap-on it stated that the handle wasn't eligible for warranty if it would hold a blade. So we replaced the blade, putting it in the shortened handle, and gave it back to the guy. He wasn't happy, expecting a completely new screwdriver. We let him read the warranty standards and he stomped out fuming. But I think he got more than he deserved.

Yep a screw driver was the most abused tool a mechanic owned in his tool box and I'm guilty of doing the same to a few Snap On screw drivers !!!!

:rain:Good Morning Porch Pals and Sue! Thanks for the birthday wishes, great way to start the day. Which is warmer, and wet. So, putz it will be.

Two years ago, I finally organized my tools. Three tool boxes; an old Crasftman Home, a unbranded Tractor Supply, and a tall Husky I got from a truck friend for $100. Until I organized, I never even used the Husky! I didn't want another box of disorganized stuff. Since (like most) you have tools AND home repair "stuff" that's like tools. Now my only problem is remember that obscure thing is where? Tools I can find....

And I have all 3 sizes of "that screwdriver". Always beat on cheap ones, and kept them just for that. They are in the drawer with chisels.

I've done more woodworking than wrenching, but guys would use screwdrivers for chisels and vice versa, more times if I had help on different jobs the chisel being used for a screwdriver freaked me out because of safety reasons.

Just got done with the urologist, good for another year. :bananadance: My new guy is a lot better than than the other one I had, mostly because he had hands like Shaq, one time I seen a poster with his actual hand imprint. My whole hand would fit in his palm and I wear a large / extra large glove :anonymous:.

Not sure I’d be too keen on a large handed urologist. Especially when they do a prostate exam. Gives me shivers just thinking about it. Good luck with that. :D

That's why I like the new one, this guy is normal, my father died from prostate cancer 25yrs ago. I'm usually nervous about going any way, it's just one more thing to make it less intimidating. The other guy had bad reviews because of his hand size. The other health system has a female urologist if I hadn't designated this group, I'd see her, that may still be uncomfortable too but I'm not sure. I have a female primary but she doesn't do that digital thing.

    Afternoon all:

:annoyed:, got some type of bug, started on Sat. with a mild sore throat and got progressively worse. Sinuses just keep draining into the throat causing me to cough constantly irritating the throat even more, don't feel like doing anything except resting. Could be the Flu, Covid, RSV, or just a bad cold, as long as it doesn't kill me, I'll be just fine!

Geez, all of this urologist talk is hitting pretty close to home. Following a prostate biopsy (so not fun) in November I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and had it classified as Stage 4b in late November following a PET scan.

Since then it has been an something of a roller-coaster ride:
    • During my first meeting with my oncologist in December he questioned the findings of the PET scan due to the unusual location of one of the spots of cancer, in my right shoulder. Oddly enough, that is the very shoulder I separated in 1990 while a half-mile out in a very cold lake during the first leg of a triathlon; the shoulder has given me significant amounts of trouble ever since. When he heard about the triathlon incident he scheduled me for a bone scan and a high contract CT scan.
    • I met with the oncologist again in early January and after reviewing my latest scans he told me my shoulder was clear and better still, only a few lymph nodes in my lower abdomen were A) impacted and B) slightly enlarged; this finding switched my diagnosis to Stage 4a. My oncologist and I discussed options, with me focusing on what would give me the best quality of life and the longest lifespan, and decided, "GULP", to undergo a "simple bilateral orchiectomy", yeah, I'm now a eunuch (I guess that means I am now qualified to guard a harem); the surgery was performed a week ago yesterday, so you guessed it, I'm still a tad tender downstairs.
    • Next steps will be to meet with a radiation oncologist and see if I am a candidate for radiation treatments, my medical oncologist thinks I am because the impacted lymph nodes are fairly low in my body so any radiation won't pose a risk to organs in the area.
    • Regardless of whether I receive radiation treatments, I'm going to be looking into immunotherapy as a next step.

Should be an interesting journey. :)
