Dropping the tank isn't too bad, pulling the bed doesn't help with the double cabs so I've had to do drop it a few times

Good point. When I tilted the one I worked on it was to replace the roll over valve. Pump is further forward under the cab on double cab.

@Jon64l How did you go about fixing the connection under your seat for the fuel pump?

Got a new pin from a spare connector, cut and soldered the wires, shoved it back in there. I really need to do a better job on it.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good automotive 12 pin connector I can use to replace this one with?

Damn! Me too. So we are developing a trend. I might say bypass it for now. Just wire around it.

Also makes me question the pins at the fuel pump connector. Mine were fine.

On my 240sx I remember the factory fuel pump connector was a weak link and upgrade or wire around was the fix.

Ya I just soldered the wires together for now, bypassing the connector.
Ya I'm hoping the same thing doesn't happen down the line. I'm surprised I haven't heard of this issue that often, with that many people running upgraded pumps.

Deutsch connectors go up to 12 positions https://www.amazon.com/MUYI-Connector-Waterproof-DTM04-12P-DTM06-12S/dp/B09VB8KYZ1 (<-knockoffs)

But you'd need something that can handle more amps for the fuel pump, or split the conductors

I tapped the wire under the seat for a relay so I can run larger wires to the tank. I'm still running off the stock wiring right now because I haven't had the urge to pull the bed. But I have some of the tank wiring penetrations that way this pump can get the full amperage draw that it wants and no voltage drop hopefully

Funny enough, I'm no longer having the same cold start issues after fixing the wiring.

I'm leaning toward doing the same and running a thicker gauge wire to the tank to avoid any more issues down the line. The sheathing on the wires was burnt and flaked right off, about an inch away from either end of the connectors. What penetrations did you get for the tank?

I ordered these, they came with a strong recommendation from a friend.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/202405523482

Sounds like your aeromotive pump is still good though

The pump is still good, ya. But the factory wiring is definitely undersized for it. Not sure what my max flow is.

Yeah unless you get something tiny like the Walbro 190 the factory wiring isn't ideal size. Aeromotive and AEM even mention this in the manual

FPR should make it constant, so around 12 amps at the high end?

@Speedytech7 you ever get around to tackling transmission control?
Got some cable splices coming in today so I'm gonna get back at it soon, though still want to find some stiffer wire like the green ones that came with the PnP harness. At least going to probe my solenoid wires and get my speedo working again.

I haven't had my guinea pig over in a while, it's the next project on the list though. I have everything on hand to give it a good ol college (community college at least) try.
