I wouldn’t be, very first roll out is going to have some glitches. Patience grasshopper.

4G is cool and all, but nothing really blows my socks off about it.

Porsche spent millions gutting two 911s to fit a spaceframe chassis with bellcrank-actuated shocks and portal hubs, so they could do the same demo course as stock 2024 Tacos from two months ago:

My 3rd gen has black interior and headliner in the cab. Even the black seats. I am lucky that I claimed my truck out of the dealer lot before 2018 Tacoma models has arrived which different paint code, nanny crap added. Mine is plain black. I don't want flakes in the paint which newer models have them. Maybe factory bring plain black paint back for 2024 models.. who knows.

My truck doesn't have nanny crap.

Mine has all black. You can change colors on the doors which you mentioned about armrest area.... there are custom shops that can change colors for you. They have all kinds of stuff such as leather, vinyl, etc. You can even paint the pillar trims if you hate grey.

I'd take the Tacoma over an OR portal axeled Porche any day. That car also climbed a volcano or something with limited oxegyn. I forget what was mentioned in the video, and what it was about but it made me laugh. I'll have to watch it again. Now a factory 911 I'd take over the 4G.

That car is pretty cool except for all of the banging. Driving it up to 22,000 feet is pretty damn impressive.

yep yep, was going to have my upholstery guy do mine, but I got over it. Spend more time looking at the dash than I do the armrest. It is mostly all black and boring, which I like.

Thorough suspension analysis as typical of Edmunds:

4th gen OR with sway bar disconnected flexes a bit less than 3rd gen TRD Pro, but way better than Colorado Trail Boss.

Sway bar cannot disconnect when bound up. Need to be on level ground.

Front bumpstop is now on the shock shaft.

It'll be interesting to see Edmunds take this truck on the trail. A few years ago they blew out the yellow Bilstein on a 3rd gen on a rough gravel road.

    wait…. wut?

why would they do that? Seems like a good way to blow apart the shock body.

I was thinking the same thing. Not only will you blow the shock up but you’ll blow your fender up with the tire stuffing up into it too. Does anyone else do that on truck shocks already?

The new Bilsteins have a snubber valve built into the shock at full compression. I guess in conjunction with a beefier lower stalk, smaller motion ratio (less leverage on the shock), and beefier shock towers, Toyota now feels it's OK.

Motor Trend jumped the truck already, hasn't blown the shocks yet!

They do on coil overs, but not as the main bump, always have an air bump as the primary. On coil overs they are there to keep the shock from fully bottoming out.

Yes, Ford Ranger and Bronco both put the bumpstop in the shock. It's almost as if people in the automotive industry copy each other!

Let's see if a 4th gen will go pigeon-toed in Moab courtesy of its electric rack :fingerscrossed:

Also this is happening in Montreal:
