I posted the image of the Google search function on a Google Chrome browser, which have that little camera button on the right, click on that and it will search the image you specified. Don't know if that will suit your needs.

    You need an intern.

Do HWs have part numbers on them? I’m thinking:
    - a number would be much easier to search and
    - what kind of info do you have on your 37 tab spreadsheet? What kind of trouble are you having managing it?

Re: if the HWs have part numbers, it’s a do once, cry once situation if you don’t already have them on the spreadsheet if you don’t already have them documented. Alternatively, an official name or other standard piece of info could be tracked.

Hence the suggestion for an intern.

    Happy Wednesday everyone :hattip:
    I hope it’s a good one

Wife left Bangkok yesterday and is now in Chiang Mia. Says a lot different but some things look the same.

Precisely the same thought I had yesterday but forgot to post it. :fistbump:

For that app, at least one person is complaining that it went from a one time fee of $5, which seems fair enough, to a monthly subscription, which does not.

I haven’t checked to see if they changed or not but years ago when I first started collecting cars had numbers but would be the same for different colors or different wheels and the same for some that were missing stripes. Then you get into where you have multiple brands like hot wheels, matchbox, M2, Jada, Johnny Lightning, and many more.

Thank you all for the suggestions and ideas. Like @williams63 said.. it's a bit more complicated and while I have a good handle on my documentation, a real time visual thing is what I'm looking for.

My last unsolicited post on the subject.

Are you familiar with the search 'sheet' vs the search 'workbook' feature? The first will search the tab you're on, the second all 37 tabs in your workbook.

Yes, I'm familiar with those things. And thank you for sharing.

What I'm wanting to do is be able to pick up a new HW in a store, take a photo of it and have (assuming AI) scan my photos for it to see if it's a duplicate or not before I buy it.

As discovered yesterday there are apps that scan for duplicates and delete them but that's not going to work for me.

I thought perhaps 1 or more people in here and been playing with AI and could give me some direction. We can definitely move the shop talk back to shop talk though haha.

Im guessing you are ahead of your time, or you need to build that program and get rich;)

if it can delete them, it should be able to identify them, id think

If you have an iPhone, the find duplicate photo feature shows you the duplicates before it deletes anything. Leave it up to you to ok the merger and deletion. I would think the Google app would work similar. May be worth a download to try it out on some test pics to see if it will work for you.

The duplicate photos thing really only works on actual duplicates. If I take a photo in a controlled space at home to post in the HWs Thread on TW, and then take a photo of the same HW at a store, they will be two different photos and not trigger the "duplicate" because it wasn't take at the same time/place/condition.

If I have 10 of the same fire truck but they're all the different colors etc, I want to be able to see if I have the yellow one or not.

I really was trying to keep it simple in here and not take up too much shop space.

This is what I see in my head every time I open an electrical panel and the previous electrician has left a 16" service loop on every breaker termination!
