I've never used the MTS/crawl control on my OR, but thought at the time it was the best bang for the buck (plus I preferred the cushy ride). I suppose I would lean that way again unless I could get a comparably equipped SR5 for ~3-4K less.

The SR5 is about $3-4K less, no locker or 14” multimedia screen available. I could live without those. Like the painted flares better, they don’t look as wide either.

But those flares aren't wide enough for the wheels/tires they put on it.

Looks fine to me, just barely tucked, could run a 255 or 265 if it bugs a person too much. still wondering if those are pressed into the sheet metal or are plastic flares over the metal.

Definitely needs the $60 Mud Guards option, which is a bargain.

Looks like I won't be finding out if my local Lexus dealer has ice cream in the lounge anytime soon. Called them to see how much they wanted to install a tow hitch on my GX460. The MSRP on the hitch is $575. They quoted me $569 on the hitch and $500 labor for the install. With tax it was $11xx dollars lol. I asked how many shop hours was $500 and he said 2.5, which sounds about right. But there is no way the book calls for 2.5 hours to install that hitch, maybe 1.5 at most.

Ended up ordering the hitch from a Lexus dealer in Arizona for $480 with free shipping. My right arm is useless so I will get a friend to help me install it. I've got a bottle of bourbon he's had his eyes on for a while. He'd happily help me for free, but he'll be even happier to get the bourbon for helping.

    It does, and they are.

Toyota uses that truck on the website. Really liking that silver SR5, just needs to be a longbed with a topper.

    The Joy’s of owning a Lexus. :)

My lowly SR poverty trim came with a hitch. :p

My wife's and my GX are optioned exactly the same except her's had the hitch and mine didn't. It was a $650 option if factory installed. It's one of those deals where they added it to some and not to others. I knew it when I bought it, but they didn't have one with the color combo and optioned the way I wanted with the hitch. It's an easy add on so no biggie.

Just take the hitch off of hers, she won't notice.

Yeah hitches are super easy to install. Does it have the wiring harness already, or do you have to tap into the taillight?

Lol. That would be an option, but I like the idea of having a hitch on both.

For my first real towing adventure with my GX, I booked a cabin for three nights in April at Cumberland Mountain State Park in Tennessee for my birthday weekend. We will be towing our enclosed trailer with the e-bikes and mini bikes so we have toys to play with. In case you were wondering I have a Honda Grom and my wife has a Honda Navi. Hopefully we get some decent weather to ride them.

All the GX's have the wiring harness already connected. If the hitch isn't installed the wire bundle with connector is taped up and secured out of the way. When you install the hitch you just un-tape and extend it and fasten the connector to a mounting plate on the hitch. It's pretty slick how they did it.

That’s what I figured. It would be weird for TRD models or higher trim not to have it. Thanks for the clarification

That’s really the only thing I have on my build. I’m hoping my dealer can work some magic and get mine approved

I think it’s standard on TRD.

To channel my inner Turd, why is the screen so big? I'd be happy with a little 4" (that's what she said) LCD screen.

I want to know more about the differences in Sport, Normal, and Eco modes.

I'm sure it's out there somewhere, probably just changes the shift points on the transmission, Sport locks out OD, Eco shifts into 4th gear before you hit 15 mph.

Seems like someone mentioned normal and sport mode disabling the auto start/stop.
