Should be a cool event and you live close enough. If it was on a weekend I'd consider it but not driving that far on a work night.

so as a few know im trying to win the little ninja 400 and atm i am winning! the auction is tomorrow and there hasnt been any interest in the bike.
well yesterday a snag showed up and copart and the insurance company decided to change the bikes description and give it a reserve so even if i get the highest bid i wont win the bike since the seller (according to crashed toys) wants at least 1k for that bike which tbh isnt bad if the bike is like 10k or higher but for a 5-6k brand new bike it doesnt make sense... since after buying it for 1k plus the fees so 700 more then fixing the bike and registration all the fun stuff you are over 2k or close to 3k (depending on how much stuff costs) which is basically used bike prices... i can find 21-22s with less then 5k miles at 3-4k all day out here so unless they decide to be nice and say you know you win we will give it to you for 500 i wont be getting the little 400 which is a massive bummer but oh well. i will still be going out to look at it today since i made time to go look at it.

in other news thou i did hear that a project i was waiting on is finally gonna show up next month! so thats at least exciting! plus my new phone will be in today so no more iphone 8 plus lmao


edit: i knew about the hidden fees and that this can be difficult i just didnt expect them to change something so close to its actual sale date...

tell me about it... i called and asked copart why it now has a reserve and they wouldnt tell me but say it was crashed toys thing. so i called crashed toys and asked them and they told me no they do not put reserves on bikes or other items that is copart and the insurance company on lower priced items to drive the price up

 

That's BS. I can't believe they allow them to alter the terms of the auction once any bids have been placed. If there were no bids like at the beginning of the auction, okay, but once bidding has started then that should not be permitted.

 

i agree thats why i was annoyed at it... but oh well you win some and you lose some in life

basically am. i still plan to at least go look because im interested in how that part works but im not gonna spend any effort on trying to get this bike

 

They're playing both sides of the fence, first they list it with no reserve to create extra interest. Then when they see the plan is backfiring they add a reserve. I'd walk on principal.
