    Been in and out of this thread. Keep saying I’m going to do this mod, need to just do it already. When playing in the rocks I’ve had the truck shut off a few times saying high trans temp :facepalm:

    wonder if I’ll be fine just adding a fan to my switchpro and turning on when wheeling

    LED interior, license plate, and fog lights. More to come.
    That might get you by. I'd say do an external cooler with it's own small fan if you can.

    I had same thing, it’s not from trans overheating, it shuts off cuz you’re rolling back while in 4WD and it shuts itself off to protect the drivetrain from binding. I’ve had it happen a few times climbing rocks.

    Yeah, I had same issue happen to me and I was scrambling around to find answers. Theres another thread of similar issue's that I can't find off the top of my head, but that is the cause of it. Anytime rolling back in 4WD the truck will shut itself off to protect from binding. I also have OBD Fusion and my trans temps were fine!

    I want to install some steel tubing for my trans line for the external cooler that goes through the radiator panel.
    What is the size, type of this metal tubing?
    Can I get my own and bend it? Suggestions

    I have a question, I followed the OP, installed the Hayden cooler and Maradyne fan. Right now, the fan is wired so that it is on whenever the ignition is on. Is there any drawback to this? I have the switch, and am thinking about installing it. Just not too motivated to dig into the dash at the moment. Thanks!

    Hey guys I've just released transmission cooler bracket kits available to order on my website. These have been extremely popular with the FJ and 4runner guys. Links below.

    I'm sorry I don't have better pics currently but these go on the passenger side and bolt in. I'm offering the first 3 people who send me/post good pics of the install to get $20 refunded from their order.

    Pictured below is on a 3rd gen. 2nd gen is very similar. Totally bolt-in to existing holes, no holes to drill.

    I can say this, I ordered and received a bracket. It is a very nice piece. I still need to get off my butt and get a cooler and get the install done.

    @Iconic_

    I used a plastic push pin I had laying around on the bottom left... The mount is solid, but it was too close to the hood latch center support for the cooler lines to exit towards the driver side. I had to flip the cooler and run the lines behind it... no biggie and it made for an easy install with room for nice loops in the lines to not restrict flow.

    I ran the upper line by drilling through the bracket and adding a grommet to protect the line, the bottom runs straight behind the bracket cleanly.71A9BFC4-6A25-42B6-AEC6-5AEA4232C69C.jpg 78E025E7-2E1B-4845-AFA0-846692A93D6C.jpg

    @Kane50 that's a super clean install... I like the clamps! I thought about drilling it but once I flipped it over, it's fine for my needs. My routing is a bit different, I used the inlet to the factory cooler over to the new cooler top and bottom back to the old cooler. Essentially backwards from the way you did. I didn't want to mess with that tight radius out of the old cooler... As well as this seems to be working, I may remove the old cooler completely.

    do you have a link for those clamps that you’ve used. I really like those in that location.

    As others of stated very clean, well thought out install.
