honestly you won't need all terrains. Grab ahold of some all seasons to drive across. Unless you are planning to run all terrains permanently.

    Last tank I went 342.7 km on 50.94 L. 538 km per tank , 6.72 km/l, 19 mpg or 14.86 L/100.

Not sure if that's an imperial gallon, I used http://www.accommodationz.co.nz/economycalculator.html

Quite a bit of putting around town & in 4 hi. Taking a road trip tomorrow & see if there's much of a difference.

    Krazie Sj,

I haven't for a while, I'll check that this aft. I like the truck, I'd be pretty happy with the mileage you guys are posting. I'd like to wait until we are out of winter gas here to really assess, but I've only got 5k left on the warranty. Thanks for the tip..kinda forgot about that one.

Seems to be breaking in nicely. Last tank was 11.05 L/100km (9.04 km/L). Light came on at 594 km.

Last roadtrip I was late for an appointment so was flying low with a bunch of stop & go driving once I got there. I got 6.59 km/l or 527 km to the tank on a 324 km trip. I haven't seen this bad of economy without towing but not surprised with the result.
I haven't topped up from the return trip yet. Was driving my normal pace of just under 100km/hr and burned about 1/8 tank less on the highway portion (about 200 km).

I forgot to ask...I got my '06 DC Sport 4X4 used with 17" 265 75 rubber. Is this the stock size tire?

Man, I'm jealous. My gas light came on yesterday and I had 340km on the tank.

Thanks OZ. I'm running 265 75 16 so I got almost 546 to the tank doing 125 - 130. I can live with that

Must be nice. If I did a buck 30 I'd be lucky to get 250-300 out of the tank.

FishinTaco, only other thing I can think of is, A) You have a brake catching somewhere, but you'd smell it easily if it was, or again, crappy gas from somewhere.

Are you doing premium or Regular in your tank?

Hey Krazie, thanks for the response.

I don't smell any breaks burning, and I've been switching up gas stations to see if it's bad gas, or bad brand. I've got an appoitment tomorrow with Toyota, got some TSB's to take care of (blower fan, steering column clunk). While it's there I've got documentation of this gas issue, my last tank was 11.7 mpg, that was shifting easy and driving easy no 4x4 and not all that cold out.

I know the 6spds are worse on gas. How many of the posts here are from manual trannys?

Hopefully they won't just tell me to deal with it, i hope there is a problem they can take care of. I'll post here after to maybe help other folks. I checked fuelly.com and I am pretty much the crappiest mileage listed for 2010 taco.

I'm running reg gas, haven't tried premium yet...but man, regular gas here is $1.23/L, can't even look to see what premium runs...lol.

Oh, to add, I've ran Manuals for a while, 1989 2wd toyota P/U, 1989 4wd 4runner, 1998 Taco 4wd and I did great for mileage compared to friends with same vehicles. I was getting 550km out of a tank on my 98 taco (3.4L V6), and I was getting 600km+ out of my 89 runner (4 cyl 22RE).

I topped up last night after 354 km with 47.81 L. 2 trips to work made up about 130 km of the total. 7.4 L/km or 613 km to the tank after tire correction.

FishinTaco, I have never heard a manual tranny getting worse economy over an auto with the same engine. It is usually the opposite.

What rpm do you run at? I see the best economy under 1900. Maybe upshifting at a lower rpm will help? I'll watch my tach tonight to see when my auto shifts.

I know how shitty it is to have a truck you like sucking gas. My '03 GM 4X4 crew has been sitting all fall & winter because it burns so much gas; I can't afford to drive it . Hopefully you can get this resolved.
