Hey all I am having problems with driveline vibration. I only have a 2.5" lift but can't seem to remedy it. I have a lot of play in my center support bearing and was going to replace it. But found out they are $200.... Now I am questioning if it will really cure my vibration problem.

I would like to hear from the people running a one piece and if they like them. How many miles do you have on them? Would you recomend it?

    Thanks!

After I lifted my truck I noticed the vibes were getting worse and worse..felt like the truck was going to split apart..Turned out the driveshaft was coming out of the tranny housing..ultimately I had to extend my drive shaft 2.5 inches to keep it fully housed in the tranny, now she rides smooth..My rear lift is comprised of allpro expedition leafs and 1" block thinking the pinion angle was too extreme

I am unfamilur with the prerunner, does the splined slip joint slide into the transmission on those? The slip joint on mine is behind the carrier bearing.

I do realize that the purpose of the rubber mount is flex but controlled flex. Mine moves with little to force applied...

1 piece driveshaft will help but doesnt completely eliminate the vibes. My truck (as with all reg cabs) come standard with a 1 piece drive shaft and we still experience vibes. For a 2 piece, a carrier bearing drop will help and axle shims will help too.

I replaced my with a Tom Wood's one piece double cardan driveshaft. I would never go back to a split driveshaft and a carrier bearing.

    Bone stock for now!
I have a custom 1 piece and a 6 inch lift and my truck is a DC. It took some doing and was hard to find someone to build it. I had one guy build it and another had to rebalance and fix it, but 75-80 mph its as smooth as it ever was. If the problem wasent there before the carrier bearing started to wear I would just replace the carrier bearing and call it good. Your looking at about $450 or more for a one piece.

My truck is a DC short bed.

Looks like the beaing from toyota is $200+ from the dealer, and a one piece is about $300 from the local driveline guys. So I'm gonna give it a go on the on piece sriveshaft, I really hope it fixes my problem.

So I heard some stuff about a one piece driveshaft increasing stress loads on the yokes and t-case (or transmission in your case). I take it since your long travel you would have to say that it's not been a problem. Correct?

    Nice truck!

Just vibes at every speed. Dana shaft and Spicer double cardan flanges completely eliminated the vibe. My driveline shop stressed the double cardan joint was key to it working like it should. I never had the bump after stopping.

I haven't noticed any vibes after my lift. I did the carrier bearing drop with the lift. I am going to measure to make sure that all the angles are good and get a shim if needed. Excess or mismatched angles in the driveline can cause vibrations and/or premature u-joint wear. I will be replacing all the U-joints F & R and the carrier bearing soon just for maint. They are wear items and need replaced from time to time. I haven't even had vibes from front diff needle bearing.
