    Hello everyone!

Im posting in the New Members thread today because although I have had this account for several years, it was only briefly used when building my first Tacoma!

That truck was a 2018 SR5 4x4 Access cab. My ownership with that truck was short lived sadly as I made a poor decision and traded it in. Almost immediately I regretted my decision but I wasn’t in a position to get back into another Tacoma right away.

I loved my access cab, the proportions of the truck are perfect in my opinion and having the 6ft bed makes it that much better. Fast forward a few years and I’m itching to get an other Tacoma. I really wanted another access cab, but now I’m engaged and my fiance and I had been toying with the idea of purchasing land. I really needed a double cab but I also really needed the 6ft bed again. At this point, I knew I was in the market for a DCLB. (the beloved long boi)

I found a CPO MGM ‘22 TRD sport at my local dealer with only 2k miles. Price was decent so I hopped on it. Truck was 100% stock obviously, I knew I wanted to take this build in a similar direction with as my old SR5.

You’ll notice queues betwixt the builds for sure, I went with the same suspension set up, same tires but this time opted for a different wheel. I don’t want to turn this into a build thread, but if this gets enough interest I’d love to do a deep dive into both my old truck and my current DCLB.

We ended up purchasing some raw land, and so I took this truck in a more overland direction so we will have a place to sleep and basically have a mini rolling home away from home while we build an off grid dwelling on our land.

It is still very much a work in progress, but this is how it sits today. I had a list of parts in the garage that need installed, and quite the list of things that still need to be ordered and done on the truck, but I’m still very much enjoying it as is!

Feel free to ask any questions, I’ll do my best to answer! I plan on being way more active on this forum this go round with the truck.

Oh, and one more thing.. I will NOT be trading this one in mid build, that is for sure!! lol

I plan on keeping this one as long as I can! Thanks for reading!

Welcome back! 2 beautiful trucks. That 2018 looked very sweet. Congratulations on the property, off grid aspirations and engagement. Back on the right track again with your new truck. I'm enjoying my 2020 Sport long box as well but in it's mostly stock form.

Thank you very much! Yes things are starting to come together after years or hard work! I love white on these trucks, was my first choice over the MGM but this was too good of a deal to pass on!
