despite our record profits last year we didn't make enough so you won't get a raise. we're understaffed but won't pay market value to fill the open roles so don't forget to give 110pct!! it's a privilege to work for this company!! thanks for being family here

 

Laughs in gov't, we all laugh at each others supposed "value". Despite having managerial structure it feels like just about everyone is on a level playfield.

My mentor was a founding owner of the company I work for (he has since retired), and the best advice he gave me was, “You’ll hear all about how we’re ‘family’ right up until the moment you’re called into someone’s office and told, “It’s just business.””

P.S. A little birdie told me that it’s almost certain that there will be no raises this year, cost of living or otherwise.
