I have a 6 cyl MT that is 4.10 and donor was 4 cyl AT. I checked before installing but want to double check before using 4 wheel drive.

I jacked up the truck totally off the ground, put in in 4L/neutral and marked the front and rear on the driver side and then turned the rear wheel. Everything was all over the place, the passenger and driver front rotated differently.. The passenger side would stop and start which must affect the driver side total rotation.

I remembered this https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/checking-gear-ratios.325232/ and then:

I set the Elocker and then set the passenger side front tire on the ground. Then when I turned the back tire 1 full revolution the front tire rotated 2 full revolutions. From what I read this should be correct but I want to be sure. This should be correct, right?

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
So how far did you drive like that ??

It will take some time to for the torque bind to build.

If your sure your correct my luck would not allow me to not check both differentials .

Once was enough in my case a expensive lesson I will never guees or hope again.

Thanks, I checked the new front a couple times -- but I always questioned how I was checking them. A little up the road and back- I probably drove it a half a mile

It would come down to how large a difference between gear ratios .

The thing with Trucks like this you never know what might have been changed unless it was yours since it left the dealers lot
