bed extender help!!!

i have an 06 double cab short bed, i found a dude selling his bed extender for 130 and I want to get it. however i have a pace edwards rolling tonneau cover and the rails extend inward a little bit and I am concerned about fitment.

will someone please help me out and post pics of the way the extender is mounted and a picture of the extender swiveled in the UP position. Thanks in advance.

 

there are a lot of bed extender threads out. do a search for some images. as for the extender being 'up' I'm not sure what you mean. It shouldn't ever be 'up'. Either foward making a box with the tailagate up like this:

C=extender and I = gate-----CI

that is the extender in the 'stored' position which works great for keeping groceries or a gas can from sliding around the bed.

@ gooch14 -thanks for the amazingly quick reply, i wanted a pic of it in the up position to see if it will clear the sides of the bed with my tonneau cover's rails in place. I know it shouldn't be up, just wanted to see it.

your pic is not a tacoma though, looks like a tundra. I have done multiple searches, none of them has the angle i need. the angle in your picture is great and would be beneficial if it were closer so i can estimate measurements and if it was a tacoma.

I have a besttop on my truck, which uses the normal Truck Cap Style clamps intergrated into the rail system in my '11. I can flip my extender forward and they don't hit. If my phone wasn't so damn slow for internet i'd snap a pic and post it on TW live but you'll probably be buying a new truck by the time it uploads.

make sure you can shut your tailgate before you drill your holes. another thing you need to keep in mind is you want it level. you should be fine if you put your hindges in the exact same spot on the oppisite sides. make sense? i put mine together, got it level, and double checked before i drilled holes. good luck dude hope this helps and if you need any more pics, let me know.

 

so they must be drilled on and do not have factory holes i can just screw on? ok, i can live with that, thanks for the pictures, it looks like it will fit my tonneau cover.

 

Just remember to make sure they are mirror image. Ya you will need to pre drill holes. 15/16 bit. Wondering if you got all the hardware. You should have bolts and nuts rite? You could probably use self tappers also.
