I've noticed that a lot of times in the fog, it's white cars that don't have their lights on.

Plenty of aftermarket bumpers here. Have rear light cutouts. No one said you could only put reverse lights in them... :D

Not true at all. You'll have some illumination, but there is a huge difference when you turn your lights on versus when you don't. Some people are just too dumb to pay attention to their own dashboard. Or as I've drilled into my siblings heads for years, when you are driving, you are only driving. You are not thinking about something else. You are not talking to anyone else. You are driving. And I'll tell you can do that perfectly without ever missing a beat or a turn signal or without having the proper lights on etc etc... Then you can worry about other things.

Seem to have worked so far lol

And it's the dark gray cars whenever it's raining. And it's the black cars at night...

While true that you have the DRLs, you don't have taillights. Motorcyclists have a saying: See and be seen. Being seen is almost as important as seeing.

I'm a 'lil naive about foggers. Don't they have a similar beam to headlights, just not as high? Wouldn't chase lights be a better choice for the rear?

What I was referring to is Euro-spec cars, like VW, Audi, and BMW.

It's a safety mandate in Europe to have rear-mounted fog lights to accompany brake lights in poor weather conditions for higher visibility. We'll occasionally see that here, but it's not common.

Edit: something like this. For those who otherwise don't know what it is, it looks like a brake light that's always on.

This makes sense. I thought you were referring to having something like Diode Dynamics or Baja foggers.

Fog lites usually mounted low on the bumper use a short wide pattern to lite up the first twenty or so feet in front of you, wide part being to lite up the fog lines.

Me too on that DD chase light! I had to drive up to Grafton today and that fog was thick.

You know how you get used to the noises that a vehicle (or house etc.) make? I have gotten to know my trucks noises-the little bumps and groans that it does on a daily basis as well as the more "serious" complaints when out flexing. But now. With the significant changes I have made, the truck is a symphony of new and sometimes unusual noises. It is all pretty new and I don't know the noises yet. A little bit stressful, as I spend a lot of time focused and listening-what was that? Is that bad? Did the cubby just pop open? (it didn't) etc etc. You guys do that to?

    Yes.
When I removed the swaybar it actually eliminated a small buzz I'd written off as 'normal'.

As I was saying ... On your DASH it doesn't light up until you turn your real lights on :playball: lol

Also, I don't understand why DRLs even exist. Since they don't light up your taillights ...

I'll probably try one this year. I will admit that their soft sided ones just seem nicer than the Walmart ones.

Their coolers are nice, too. But, not worth the money for the way most people actually use coolers. As was mentioned earlier, a 12V fridge is probably a much better solution for a lot of us as well.

I do. I even try to load things in a way that will keep them from rattling or making noise. Any noise drives me crazy. I've pulled over on road trips to rearrange cargo if it's making noise. :anonymous:

Oh there will be some mods all right
I am always hyper focused on my vehicle and the sounds it makes almost to a neurotic degree. I wish I was one of those blissfully ignorant people, driving while missing a wheel lol
