Yeah I absolutely loved Legos as a kid too; my mom still has a lot of my bins and after looking up future sets I'd buy him...I looked up some of my own and apparently they're worth a lot of money (the knights sets)

That Lego figure I posted up the other day fetches a pretty penny too, but that thing's going to be in either his room or the office once it's put together

A member the other day sent me a small kit, so basically Theo's first Lego set

Got the Tacoma, the car and the van at least. Was nice enough tonight to get the van out of storage and give it a bath to get the grime off of it. It does clean up well still. Have to use the RV wash bays though lol

I was working on a Peterbilt wrecker for a while and was getting really discouraged by it. Finally said fuckit and boxed it up and started the TOM's supra and waaay more enjoyable. Was worried that I had stopped enjoying it, but no I just didn't like the one I was building.

It's your job to plant that seed. Get them addicted to cars so they can't afford a drug habit.

It has potential but the part fit wasn't ideal, the instructions were lacking and I tried painting in the spars this time before cutting everything out, didn't like the way that worked, didn't like the color that came out and somehow ended up missing parts, which I am so frustrated that I don't know how it's possible unless the kit was missing them from the start.

Do you have a Dremel for parts fitting?

I understand why people do it when they actually have money or know-how, but this kid said he had a budget of 3 grand. When someone pointed out it couldn’t be done with the stock IFS and 4wd, he said “I guess I’ll swap in Dana 60s also.”

I regularly get people warning me about coyotes when they see me walking Dex at night, but tonight some dude stops his car and goes "careful bro, there's some racoons up that way"...

    ...ok....

Oh for sure, I mean I wouldn't want to get tangled up with either of them. I don't worry about coyotes with Dex, we've walked right by them countless times and they just run away usually. Some lady at the park a couple days ago told me she thought I was walking a coyote, I was like damn that's an insult to Dex

But yeah raccoons got those murder mittens, I think maybe he was just trying to warn me in case Dex tried to engage one of them

I have the Dremel but usually the knife and files are enough. But it's hard to fix warped parts, or those that don't "click" together well.
He's a kid, let him dream. Let him learn the hard way.

For a rack? I did this for a rack on my truck several years ago, ultimately regretted it. Rack is gone now, holes plugged with rivnuts. Which have surprisingly held up well for the last 3 years, no leaks. But would not recommend drilling the roof.

You mean you've never done an engine swap while you were still in high-school?

Hey that's cool! Any chance they also waived inspection and want to close early?
