hey for all of you with back problems.....

Same boat here. Lifetime of heavy construction & heavy lifting on a little body has wrecked my spine from head to tail.
Had injections 3 times last year along with a nerve block to start..... They helped some, for a bit.

Then my insurance decided that it was time for "ablation" (sp)

They went in & did that burn the nerve thing. It's supposed to last 6-8 months.
IF it does? Then it was worth the extra pain of getting it done.

At about 6 weeks out right now. Everything still hurts, but its a get up & go to work hurt vs a cant stand to be alive hurt.
    Functional discomfort vs incredible pain.

Going back next week for my follow up & report, will see what they have to say.

Anyone with lifetime build up of back stuff should really consider this if your insurance doesn't already make you do it.
    ASK ABOUT IT!!

My dad went to Cordoba, Argentina several times with a group of his former co-workers, one of whom was a US based partner with a local guide for Dove hunts out of Cordoba. I went with him once, in summer of 2007. I can confirm, that the amount of Doves down there, at least at that time, was simply beyond belief. Each of us had their own "bird boy" - a local who was paid by the Guide to go pick up all your birds, and keep your shell pouch full, and clean your gun every night. You had to use their local shells, and their gun powder is really crappy stuff, leaves a huge amount of powder residue in your gun, it will jam it up hard after a few days if you don't clean it often. Anyway, your Bird Boy also keeps count of how many you shoot (birds, as well as how many shells, so they know how much to charge you if you go beyond the number of shells that are part of the "package deal"). If I remember correctly, I shot >2,500 rounds, and killed around 1100 - 1200 birds in a 10 day hunt. My dad got closer to 1500 birds, with about the same number of shells.

The Guide told us that some hunters want to go for what is considered the "Grand Slam" - killing 1,000 birds in a 24 hour period. Even with as many birds as there are, you have to pretty much be shooting for something like 18 straight hours. And yes, there are indeed more than enough Doves to achieve this, if you personally have the stamina.

There are a huge number of mega sized cattle/sheep/goat ranches around Cordoba - like 10,000 - 20,000 acres are the norm, and the ranchers hate the Doves, as they eat all the cattle feed, so the Guides make deals with local ranchers to allow them to bring hunters onto their lands. Many times, the rancher/his wife will feed the hunters a huge ass meal. That was the first time I ever had BBQ'd Goat. The food is pure amazing. They are massive carnivores in Argentina. .My dad joking said "[a] vegetarian would starve to death in this country". And he wasn't wrong...

My shotgun was a Savage Arms pump model, not a real good choice for heave use. You can bring your own (my dad and I did), or rent guns from the Guide. If you bring your own, the Argentine government charged us a $100 (US dollar) tax to bring each gun into their country. One of my dad's former co-workers who was with us on that trip, felt bad for me, and he let me use one of his Benelli's for most of the hunt. Holy shit, was a gun that was! I would seriously buy one in a heart beat $$$$$ but that gun was pure sex.

I've always thought spending a full year down there would be beyond amazing. And since I absolutely love the cold.... :D My wife may not think me being gone for a year would be all that acceptable, but I would stilll love to do it.

Fuel mileage is irrelevant. I've noticed this on this site. Remember I'm in a F250. I've got a few thousand pounds to go. LMAO

Not ridiculing at all. A little weight helps for a better ride. I'm kicking around ideas for building an aluminum shell that's better than cab height on my 1st gen and the inside of yours shows some good detail and gave me some ideas on how to frame it. I had an idea yours was cab high, just wanted to see how it was skinned if it wasn't. Thanks!

Exercise, get outside every chance I get, Seasonal Affection Disorder light therapy. Therapist if needed. Catch up on 50+ going ons so I have something I feel responsible towards. I suffer from major depression and anxiety. Christmas season starts the decline and I usually start feeling better 1st week of February or so. Just getting outside even on a cloudy day helps to get some "brighter" lights than inside.

Winter never bothered me until I lived in AK. So much darkness… haven’t been the same since.
Didn’t really notice it at the time but there was one spot on the couch that always got hit with the sun. I started gravitating there every day. Wasn’t a conscious thing I did. My brain knew what it needed and made me go there even if I wasn’t aware of what was going on at the time.
Now I’m usually good until this time of year. Started to get a little antsy a couple weeks back. Our below zero snap didn’t help any!

Yeah but you use them. I wouldn't have time to. Barely can keep up with the couple of things i already watch. Same reason I never got movie channels and such with cable.
