I need all season tires on before it can make it off the driveway.

After recommending the Continentals to you, I started remembering how much I liked them. They're my top pick.

I worked on a Range Rover today that had them. Are they worth $500 more than kumho’s soulless (or whatever they are called)?
    225 or 235?

    40 or 45?

    Going on 18’’ wheels

Is there that much of a price difference?

Hmmm. You know I'm not against cheap tires. I guess I should ask if they're worth the extra cost to you? Those Contis have been rated tops for a while, but I'm sure the Kuhmos are tolerable. Maybe the solution is to get a cheap set of wheels with winter tires?

    235/40?

That's a horrible idea. What time?
POS #1, 5 door hatchback. Loved the color. Hated the transmission. Traded my F150 for gas mileage on the commute. Brought this one here behind a U-Haul.
    Blue Focus.jpg

POS #2, 4 door sedan. There was an RS in the same color, and I probably should have bought that because the transmission in this one sucked as well. Trade this for the Taco. With an MT.
    Gray Focus.jpg

The last winter for the F150, and another record year for snow.

The transmission in the RS is definitely not commuter friendly.

Because of the MT? I honestly don't mind it with the truck and city driving. Second and third vehicles I owned were MT, and I put 200k on the Ranger, a lot of that around SE Michigan.

It feels similar to a twin disc clutch. I commuted in Baltimore with a manual xj. The RS is less forgiving

I haven't driven one. I asked if Ford would put one in the '14 I had. Warranty guy said no, we'll just keep fixing it.

So I drove my truck to work this morning, pulling out of the driveway I got a bad burning smell. Thought it may be clutch, I was pissed but pressed on. Hit the road and the AC light just keeps blinking. Anyone want to venture a guess as to what I may find when I pop the hood? I just got to the office so I haven't had a chance to look yet. It drove fine minus no AC.

I’ve had my a/c light flash, but turning the truck off then on healed it.

Oh that's good to hear. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that that is the issue. I didn't have a chance to restart it on my commute.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
Hoping for the best, but it sounds and smells like your A/C clutch is smoked on the compressor. The burning rubber smell is the dampener not releasing. It is typically easier to just order a new compressor complete instead of trying to replace the clutch. Just have a shop
drain the refrigerant and most of the time they won’t charge you when they fill it back up after the job when you discharge the system. I wouldn’t worry about the desiccant in the dryer or anything like that. Just be swift when you open it and get the lines back on the new compressor. Make sure the oil level is correct in the new compressor, they usually come full.

Thanks for the info! What's crazy is I work for an HVAC company but they can't help with my truck :-(
Still hoping it's going to work as soon as I go start it up though. :fingerscrossed:
