Besides a ton of water, what do you guys have success with to remove salt residue from your trucks? I've always been a pressure washer and foam rinse kind of guy in winter, but if there is something to make it a bit easier I'm all for it. I've seen stuff like Salt Away but never tried it. Any of the brands have something that works well in practice?

All work well. I first started using SaltAway on wave runners & a jet ski that I had while living in Florida. It really worked well at removing the sea salts.

Fast forward a few years and we moved to Kansas. I started using the products there to rinse undercarriage and body of road salt.

I made a “j bar” from PVC after trying a few different ideas with water sprinklers. This is my second j bar, I smashed the 1st one I made in 2010ish. Lost track of where it was and ran over it.

I posted this idea on a FJ forum about ten years ago. A guy took the idea and now there is a commercial product like this on a few junk mags like SkyMall. So you can buy one if you don’t want to make one.

Funny this came up, I just finished rinsing the FJ and the Tacoma.

Don't forget to regrease your bushing and stuff... If it takes salt off it probably takes that off too.

Good thought. However, I’ve never done anything with the FJs bushings. It’s been getting sprayed since 2010.

I got this sprayer at Home Depot. Works great. Head adjusts to get on top and underneath and the spray pattern adjusts too. All you need is that reservoir to add the salt away.

I’ve always just hosed the frame down. Worked well for me so far.
