My dad had a wooden extension ladder for a long time that he used for roof work (cleaning the gutters and the chimney). It wasn't 40' but maybe 25-30' and it weighed a ton. I finally bought him a fiberglass one about 10 years ago. If he's going to be stubborn and keep doing shit like that on his own, I at least wanted to get him a lighter, stronger ladder for the job.

My FIL is 95 y.o. Last year he calls my SIL who lives nearby and tells her to swing by, he needs her to help him. She gets there and he tells her he needs her to hold the ladder while he gets up on his roof! Though this is a guy who played 801 holes of golf last year at 94 y.o. Still completely safe behind the wheel and doesn't even wear glasses. His mother died at 102 and was completely coherent, just old.

We have a 20 ft fiberglass step ladder hanging on the wall at work with some extension ladders. I always walked past it thinking why do we have this thing? Couldn't figure out where we'd need it that the lift or extension ladder wouldn't be a better option.

Then we went to install a camera on the ceiling of a stairwell one day and my question was answered. That ladder on the landing was our only option. I looked it up and it weighs 149 lbs.

Yeah, NOPE. Hate wooden ladders. Almost rather take my chances with an aluminum one...

To add to the recent misery lol. I went to home depot a couple weeks back, I got some change carried on. Went to the corner store by work yesterday and tried to use my change....they had given me a fake 50...... bank won't take it, home depot said too bad, so I'm out 50 bucks lmao. Turning it in to the police station later.

That sucks. I would put more pressure on Home Depot since they gave you the counterfeit money. They should be checking the big bills they receive from customers.

A while back I went to the bank I have my mortgage and bill account at. I very rarely go there and they are super old fashioned. They gave me a 1985 $50 bill that looked like it was uncirculated. I was worried it was counterfeit because I bet a savvy person would try to produce older less secure bills and it's weird to see one that old in perfect condition. But I searched for what you can check and it seemed okay. I forget where I eventually used it. If it came from a retail store rather than a bank I probably would have been more worried about it.
