Is this a steal for a Warn VR EVO 1O Winch?

I think the remote recall was for the wireless version. Corroded battery connections was the issue.

I opened up the winch today to add leads for an in cab control switch. I cut the spade connector off the yellow and blue trigger wires and added a second lead to each. My in cab momentary SPDT switch will send 12v on either one to activate in/out.

 

Got it mounted last night, still need to wire things up

My rebate just came in the mail yesterday

 

Just got my $150 Rebate Card today.

I submitted the rebate form on 11/14 and it was approved on 11/28, so they are pretty accurate with the 8-10 week turnaround estimate (once the Rebate form is verified and approved).

Still waiting on the addtl. $100 rebate for the wireless remote recall, which I believe is only good for purchases on Warn.com(?) - that one was submitted 11/19 and approved as well, so should be mailed any day now.

Does anyone know the specifics of the $100 wireless remote recall rebate? Just curious, I still have to check my serial number to see if it's included.

 

Just got my winch in, was on backorder. $750 winch for $269 aint bad. Came with wireless remote that can also be wired. Still havent found a sticker though better send it back.

Now to just install into the ARB...

 

The way interpreted it - since they market and sell the VR series to include a "wireless remote" they are offering the addtl. $100 rebate to those who didn't receive the wireless remote with purchase or for current/previous owners who need to destroy and replace the defective remote.

The addtl. $100 is supposed to valid on Warn's website (like a coupon code?) to cover the purchase of a new remote or their Bluetooth module to retain some wireless functionality.

When I spoke to Warn's Tech Support - they said they are replacing the (defective) remotes with a new/updated version that will be included again with the VR-EVO winches or for purchase separately.

The updated Remote SKU is 109470, which supercedes the old remote:
