I just hope Toyota did this right. The 1gr-fe and 2gr-fks and 2tr-fe were bullet proof engines and bullet proof truck platforms in terms of body construction from 2005-2023. Old school for sure all those years but I guess I’m just an old school guy.

I think I will actually prefer it. Will have to see in person though.

Not sure where you are getting your numbers, but a base OR is $44.3k after adjusting for 9 years of inflation and that's a ~10% higher cost. I wouldn't call that twice the price.

And enjoy the 9% interest rate and $1000 month payment if not paying cash. Wonder how long its going to take for Toyota to throw incentives on the gen 4
And where are you going to be able to buy a "base OR" for $44.3? They are being allocated with what $3k to 4K off options. Fiction vs reality!

    2024 Silver Off Road Premium

Cash all the way for me! This will likely be my last truck. I spent 30 years with company cars so after getting my son a Tacoma in 2020 and daughter a Mazda CX-5 last year decided to get a used 2023 Off Road for myself. I knew the 2024 were coming and planned to get one, I just didn't think it would be this fast.

And you are correct it was allocated with everything I wanted which was the premium package for $8860 from the factory and the distributor added in another $2800+ for some things I wanted and some I would have passed on but still decided it was worth it for me. And it is silver, which is my color.

Also I know we all know this, but don't underestimate the value of a Tacoma. I really am amazed at how they hold their value. I have seen other threads on competing trucks etc and they just don't hold their value as well. Look at the 5 years deprecation rates on some of the competitors. Of course a 2-3 year old model would be an even better value since new cars depreciate so much, but I didn't want to wait.

Reality is that they cost 44.3. Of course the first allocation is going to be loaded with junk. That's a dealer and regional distribution issue. But then again people will want some add ons regardless. Even still you can get OR for mid 40's, or at least I see them in my area.

Looks like the new 250 LC inside but the materials quality looks like ass for 50k.

Yea, I really need to see and sit inside these new trucks. The pics are pretty good and don’t impress.

Was showing my wife she said it looks like a Kia. Just making my decision easier. The LR going in for full annual with detailer, undercarriage and all, get the old girl a new dress to impress.

I guess that’s why they had them locked at the car shows. Well, they are on dealer lots now.

I'm not in the market for a new truck (nor does anyone care) but the huge laptop on the dash would be a 100% deal breaker for me.
