Oh my I would need to check haha. They're tied into the bed "cage" so I could probably get a measurement from the bottom of the bed to the top of the rail. Remind me in a week and I'll check for you. I'm out of town currently :)

Idk, it's more in my mind of it being a moving part that's constantly under some amount of vibration. Being slotted on both sides (the carrier bearing is already slotted) and the mount reduces rigidity. I'd say, if it isn't a problem, why bother?

I'm trying to post more as I'm working through this. I know there are options out there I'm not considering...I'm going to have to tackle the front suspension overhaul first, but I've been thinking about how I'm going to make the tundra front diff work. I took it apart this past weekend to see if there were any internal surprises. I've never had the Tacoma ADD apart, but I'm sure its identical to the tundra. The extension to the differential casing should be straightforward to manufacture, but the shaft itself might be difficult in the sense of finding someone that would do it. Based on the research I have done, RCV might be willing to help out. The input into the diff should be a guarantee since they already offer CV axles for the tundra; it’s the receiving end for the CV that I would imagine being a challenge. One thought I had was converting over to a flange style like the GM 8.25. My immediate thought was then "how about the driver side? I would have two different style CV axles." I could convert both sides to a flange style to eliminate this issue. A downside would be that the CVs would be custom, but on the flipside, I believe they warranty up to a 40? Im sure my diff would fail before the CV would.

    Pictures are for reference

I'll also add that I plan on eliminating the automatic disconnect and switching over to an FJ t-case.

Hos does it look size wise fitting in the stock location? Does it look like the crossmember will need to be moved/modified to mount it and or fit?
