They make us wait until Sunday...and then we have work the next day! Ugh!!!

I'm hoping Lamar can take the monkey off his back...he has to prove himself...and this is his chance.

    I still haven't picked a potential winner...will I give Lamar the benefit?

His play was reminiscent of previous disappointments in the first half...but something changed in him the second half.

    OMG, it's just a game!

But I'd like to think I'd be lucky enough to pick the winner. lol

Ya, Young Purdy hasn't mastered tossing in the rain. The weather looking good is Niner Ball. :cookiemonster:

I’m hoping for Detroit and Baltimore SB

although I wouldn’t hate it for Purdy and the niners to make it

I cannot win a bleepin' coin toss but I told a buddy in week one that Detroit looked like a playoff team. I'd love to see them bowlin'.

    Just in a no g mood . . . o_O

It would be dynamic for Detroit to win; I wouldn’t be disappointed.

SF has a history of winning SBs…Detroit does not.

I may guess wrong but Purdy is my pick over Goff.

As for the AFC, that’s still undecided until I have to pick a winner.

Recent history would say that SF does not have a history of winning SB's. 0-2 in the last what 10+ years?

Yeah, but on the Whole, Detroit doesn't even have any history of SB appearances...

    Which means, they are due!

    We shall see.

In any case, I'm just going on the QB position because they're the ones who lead the offense.

That last drive that Purdy was leading said a lot about his willingness to score a much-needed TD.

But this is all hypothetical dialogue.

This should be a good match-up no matter who wins.

EDIT: I must mention the Defense as well.

They are self-motivated to be aggressive but get pumped up when their Offense makes their job sustainable...meaning long Offensive drives for resting benefits.

I am pulling for Detriot...I like the underdawg! I keep saying I don't think they have what it takes, but they keep pulling it out. They did just sign Zac Ertz, which is awesome. I like that guy.

Yea I’m an underdog guy myself.

benefit is the veteran QB. Purdy can get rattled sometimes so if he doesn’t keep his cool, SF is gonna circle the drain

? Purdy has some of the best stats in the league vs 3rd down, pressure, & blitz. Goff is the rattle can in this game. Lions have better pass blocking though so we’ll see how it shakes out.

I’m not saying he’s a choke artist by any stretch! Hell, he’s led his team deep into the post season his first two years. I’m just saying I’ve seen him get rattled in a few games and make some mistakes when things get high pressure. He’s still a phenomenal QB and will likely lead his team to a win, but if the lions can rattle him, that’s the chink in the armor they are gonna need to be looking to exploit

It's been a minute since we won a S.B. 30 years ago in 1994. Been there twice since then and lost with protester Kaepernick and Gee, Jimmy. I like our chances this year, but they have to step it up on both sides of the ball.

94 NFC championship game was a classic. Big key to games is getting after the QB. That and the last 4 minutes of each half. I am hoping for a shootout

Stats do matter but...in the Playoffs, it's a whole new ballgame.

These match-ups settle the playing field and gives us fans the opportunity to "critique the heck out of their play."

Every offensive formation keeps us in suspense.

Luckily I don’t dislike any of the cities/coaches/teams remaining. So it will be fun to watch these last 3 games.

Detroit - no titles since 1957. Everyone’s “feel good” underdog story.

Ravens - it’s been a decade+, will Lamar prove he can win it all?

49ers - it’s been almost 3 decades despite regular late playoff runs. Will Purdy prove he’s a franchise QB? I remember Kittle miked up at the end of SB54 saying “I will be back”.

Chiefs - could they be in their 4th SB 5 years? On the verge of a mini-dynasty if they keep it going. Obviously my hometown choice.

Here is hoping for clean games with decent and balanced calls by the refs!

Our defense has been better in the past but this time around it’s the offense that has top billing even with Clark Kent taking snaps. Let’s hope his read-the-D super power is up to the task.

Purdy has the skills and temperament to do the job well. I’d like to see him pull it off and show us who he is rather than who he is like. We already know he isn’t like everyone else.

Comparisons are natural when they are early in the career. Once a success, new young players are then compared to them. Mahomes was constantly compared to Farve his first couple of years, now I don’t hear it anymore. If he’s a long term success someday a rookie QB will be ‘like Purdy’.
